QUOTE(sigheart @ Aug 17 2014, 12:34 PM) Calm all your tits. +1Dafuq is wrong with you guys? Seriously overconfident till you expect us to smash every team and expect CP to just roll over and die? Cut down on your weed and football manager la please. True we weren't at our best but credit has to be given to CP. We were made to look poor partly because of how they were set up. They were really organised, they closed all the spaces well and their whole plan was to frustrate us and it worked. This is no surprise coming from a Tony Pulis team. As much as I hate that c*nt he does have a way of making his teams difficult to break down. Yes, they were managerless, but as someone pointed out, a team doesn't forget to play football overnight. Teams seem to play better when they've got nothing to lose. Plus the underdog status gives more pressure to the host team team than us. Though I don't see that sort of pressure have any effect on the players nor the manager. The way I see it, everyone played eir hearts out yesterday, despite the bad passes and mis-timed tackles. If any, this isn't the Arsenal I've seen from the previous season. In the first half, we were more direct and quick to pass forward. Its as if we didn't even realize CP was parking the London bus right in front of their goal to suck up everything we throw at them. I was pretty clear that Arsenal focuses mainly in the middle areas up front where CP already jam packed it with big bulky defenders. Still, we were counting on quick counter attack to break their defence, but lost it thanks to poor passes between players. That all WILL improve once the players play more with each other as we go through the gritty season. Surely a lot was expected of this team after such a long, long break from football. But rest assured that we have yet to see the best Arsenal play. It wasn't the best, but its surely not the worst either. As for the players individually, I wouldn't nitpick any of them because they all played decent part. Even the godson Ramsey was non-existant some time past the 50th minute mark, but finally cement his place as our saviour last night in the dying minute. What an amazing feat indeed! |

Closest to the confirmation was the statement by Cavani's agent himself saying...
QUOTE There was much interest in the player during the past six months. I can confirm that Cavani has heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal. He would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision. He is not interested in money and fame, he just wants to be happy playing football. But that was like a week ago. |

Everton no child play and Goodison Park is a damn fortress.
Arsenal really need to get their game right, which mean less fancy and not lose the ball easily. I don't favor Özil out of his place, really seem ineffective. |

Fair results imho.
Really a solid Evertonian especially in the first half. I'd take a point from Goodison Park any day. |

I like what Arsene Wenger is doing with the team this season. He is trying different strategies and formation, which is a sign that we have plethora of choices in various areas and depth that is very important.
Yes, it doesn't always be the best output compared to the tried and tested of the previous season, but fans often complaint about typical arsenal and being too predictable against high quality teams. This is the evolution of a future Arsenal. Trust in Wenger and he'll prove to the fans of how strong our team can be this time around. |
