I am trying to target those poor souls out there who're still deciding whether to dump their 6MP D70/D70s to change over to the new 10MP Canon EOS 400D or not.

I don't understand why do most of you (those already having D70/s,300/350D) have to upgrade to their replacement models. Although they have been upgraded, it most probably won't better your photo-taking skills at all even if you get the upgrades. I've seen P&S cameras being used to take amazing photos and even more so with D70/s,300/350Ds. They're already very good cameras in their own right. Do you really need those upgraded features? wink.gif Why not save another year or two and jump to the semi-pro line?

RM3150? Whoah. If it's real that's a mighty good deal (I think). I hope they won't jack up the price once the going gets really hot.

Currect prices :
Canon EOS 30D + Kit Lens + Batt. Grip RM5,650.00
Canon EOS 400D + Kit Lens + Batt. Grip RM4,200.00
Canon EOS350D + Kit Lens RM2700.00

All cash prices.

WTF? 400D + kit lens + battery grip = RM4.2k? The battery grip is almost RM1k? US Retail price for the 400D and kit lens is 899USD which is just around RM3.4k.

Am I missing anything in the equation here?

THeres a CANON Fans thread already. Just converge there and share experiences and future meets lor.

Im not 100% sure about the specs for the 30D, But If I want to upgrade to a DLSR ,either the 400D or the 30D, what are the differences? And pros of having the more expensive 30D?

You get a much much more sturdy body but nothing extremely different from the 400D =)

welwitchia, the 400D you bought at 'Boeing', is it a gray market one/AP one? Is the warranty with Canon itself or with the shop/some other arrangement?
