There's already a dust thread in the ps3 section. But not many players from lyn I think as that thread was quite dead for some time already.MMO EVE Online (F2P)

The loss of subbers are probably because the main core of players stop subbing alts because of the rising price of plex.

QUOTE(Celestia @ Nov 24 2014, 01:34 PM) plex is near 1b each Lol that's when player's like you decide it's not the worth the time to farm to sub another account because farming to meet such quota kill the fun in eve online. I was the same as well but stopped even before it reach such price, would rather pay the sub and farm to fund pvp activity or adding ships to collections sellers are happy as 2 plex = 1 fitted carrier buyers have to farm twice as much to plex their accounts sigh, I'm the buyer |

QUOTE(sumjs_5624 @ Nov 27 2014, 12:16 PM) Steam account for EVE Online is on sale now. Freaking bloody cheap. Haih the price is really tempting but too lazy to start new toon. What's the downside of having the account on steam though?RM9.50 to start a new one. Price of subscription for 1 year: RM187 (~RM15.50/month) Whoever has money to burn and wanna get an/multiple alt(s) for your main account, here's your chance. *For comparison, Price of subscription for 1 year regular account: 131.40 USD (~10.95 USD/month) |

QUOTE(sikongma @ Nov 28 2014, 09:22 AM) Well for some of us who already have accounts directly with CCP, having steam meant we might have to download twice during patch day >.< I haven't really experimented the suggested methods to overcome this so if anyone knows, please share. OMG this is brilliant, in fact with the plex pricing in our currency it's cheaper to continue our subs for CCP account with plex (for long term subscription plan). No wonder the plex price are dropping now.For those of you who are new or thinking of joining this game, don't worry too much and just subs from steam. The gist of it is, steam is currently cheaper plex wise and subs wise so no point worrying about the future (selling chars). Even if you want to sell characters, just use steam, start a new char with trial account directly with CCP and use your steam account to buy plex to train. It'll still be cheaper and you'll still need a steam account (to buy cheap plex). Anyway fly safe. PS: Veterans of Eve, please consider joining HNL to help us out, just give me/Occitane/Sinie a holler if you want to join. |

QUOTE After you purchase EVE on Steam, and it's available for you to install through Steam, don't install it. Instead, navigate to your steamapps\common folder, and manually create a folder called "EVE Online" without the quotes of course. Now, navigate to your standalone EVE installation in C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE (assuming Windows 7), and copy everything from inside that folder into the folder you just created. Then go ahead and install EVE from the Steam library. It should notice the files, and will only need to download a few MB worth of data for the installation to become usable. This I copied from Steam Eve Online forum found via Google. It should work hopefully for vets who wanted a Steam account. |

QUOTE(barbar554 @ Dec 10 2014, 05:23 PM) YARR, I'm back for EVE after 2 years hiatus. "This and Eve" and "Rhea feature tour" - My goodness, I cried manly tears watching them. and the soundtrack is just awesome. Now.. I need to re-sub. Now USD/MYR almost 3.50, EVE so expensive now haha And PLEX is almost 1 billion each QUOTE(AdisonMak @ Dec 10 2014, 05:54 PM) ^^Ask from steam users to get plex for you when it is on sale. Few weeks ago there was a sale and 12 plex cost is cheaper than 1 yr sub from ccp page and even from previous sales in amazon |

QUOTE(barbar554 @ Dec 10 2014, 08:21 PM) I thought the PLEX bought from Steam can only be used on Steam accounts? I just learn of this advantage by our local steam user so not sure of such restriction. But dont see anyway they can restrict such trading as the game world is still the sameMine is old char registered on EVE site, don't think I qualify right? And PLEX is on sale in Steam right now. 2 PLEX for like RM55. That's like freaking 50% off lol |

QUOTE(barbar554 @ Dec 10 2014, 08:27 PM) Do you mean I should ask our local players who have EVE accounts on Steam to buy PLEX then trade them to me in-game? That or you could make a steam account pilot for personal use, rm10. Dont worry about the game files, you can copy from the original eve files to steam folder if you decided to opt for steam eve online.Something like that? I'll have to use that PLEX for hours thingy I guess. But i also dont know any eve player on steam. |

QUOTE(tuo850 @ Dec 11 2014, 02:19 AM) i though you need to download separate installer from steam? and you can't use that id to login on normal client?? The client and account is different ones, so you cant use your original pilot on Steam Eve Online account and vice versa. On regards to the installer, this is what I found from googling. Have not personally tested it to clarify but if it works it does save the time to download a new installer.
