Microsoft is quite cheapskate, often remove some existing features and add on some extra to make price affordable, would've been better if they look up to xiaomi, provide high-end spec while maintaining low price.
1MP front camera on 830 is unreasonable for me, with the price $433usd~ RM1300
*
I still cannot brain how xiaomi can manage to have good spec with low price?? Sure they cut corners somewhere
I think it is its UI. 930 no removable sd come on!!!!! And other missing things doh.gif
It is not a strong flagship. The last one was the 1020 and 1520.

well, xiaomi can have such low price because they cut corners
those china smartphone manufacturer cut cost on quality control and product testing. this is what I heard before.

like nokia & Microsoft, they all have very strict quality control. I rmb I saw Nokia's video before, they talk about they even test the reaction between your sunblock lotion and the phone material. they tested a lot of things before a product can go into mass production. and the Surface product from Microsoft also have very good build quality. but that doesn't mean good quality control can ensure zero defects.

Before xiaomi reaches Malaysia, their first gen flagship and second gen flagship always got customer complain about quality, and things like explosion also occurred before. Like the new mi3, my friend got one and the battery is dead in 2 weeks. some have powerbank DOA. some have bad customer service experience.

and another u will notice is that xiaomi cut down cost on advertising. their advertising is mostly on social network, which are mostly free. they don't even have outlet or official store in Malaysia.(correct me if im wrong)
if no outlet means u don't need to hire any sales employees or store manager etc. that's how they cut cost. I can say chinaman are really good in doing business.

why new nokia model didnt use onscreen button like new htc wp? is there any future plan for upcoming model anyway?

kinda annoying keep press search button accidentally...

Microsoft/nokia will be using on screen button for low end model, and physical button only for high end model.
this is base on customer feedback, majority of wp users prefer physical button on high end model.
but I think this is all depends on personal preference. I prefer to have physical button because I can have more screen space even though it's not really a significant difference. secondly, I like the windows logo/start button on my phone. it looks cool. one thing I do hope Microsoft can implement is the start button that can act as notification led and blink/glow when there is notification pending to be read.

if Microsoft can cut down the bezel size for those lumia with on screen button, it will look better. example, like the nexus 5. I know some friends who just don't care about specs and OS. they just want a good looking phone. windows phone ady has a good looking and unique UI, all they need to do is make lumia's hardware design super sexy and it will sell.

1520 is still having the best specs in lumia line up
the new 930 and 830 is disappointing. claim to be flagship but still missing some small but important features here and there. 1520 is the most complete flagship in lumia line up.

btw where did u buy it can get tempered glass? nokia store or reseller?

Year 2015 hopefully will be Year of Surface Phone.
Drop out Nokia or Lumia brand.
Use same material as Surface or previous Zune HD

I kinda like Surface build quality. I have one and I prefer it over my MacBook
if Microsoft make a surface phone, I hope they can still retain some of the element from nokia's design

We don't get the same free MixRadio features for W8 as WP8? On WP8, we get full songs, but limited skips and no offline mix. On W8 however, only 30-sec samples

that's not the problem.
The free MixRadio features we get from our windows phone doesn't apply to its Windows 8 app.
Otherwise, I quite happy using MixRadio.

mixradio was developed by nokia and focus on lumia smartphone
their mixradio app for windows 8 feels like half baked. I think they make windows 8 app because there is a lumia 2520 tablet and didn't improve much after that. the app ui is ok, but lack a lot of features.
now Microsoft takes control and I think they will kill off mixradio, because they ady have xbox music.

btw, I don't use mixradio much, just 2 or 3 times after installed and I use spotify more. so not a big deal for me and for most ppl, I guess.

hmm...im not a Symbian user before so I don't know.
if I compare to android, which 3rd party apps can monitor battery and data, it's a nightmare
those apps offers a lot of in depth information but also drain so much battery.
I think the data sense and battery saver now is enough for average user
lets hope Microsoft will update those apps for better user experience. Microsoft did update battery saver before through the store, it shows that battery saver can be update as standalone app

what model?

I faced that before with Lumia 620, a bug I suppose (maybe fixed by now).

Besides, Windows Phone cannot be turned off when charging.
