I wouldn't recommend to get a used one, because the device is 2 years old since launch
if your budget allows, get the new flagship that is coming out next month, or have a look at lumia 640XL

apps work fine, games work fine
WhatsApp and telegram are good, Instagram is rubbish but we have a 3rd party instagram app called 6tag which is better than official Instagram on android and ios. Fb app is acceptable, I use mobile web version more. believe it or not, Fb is like apple ass licker, they support everything apple and give less attention to Windows (PC and mobile)
generally, apps run well on 1520. just some apps may not be as good as their android and ios version, but still acceptable.
it all depends on what kind of user you are.

I'm using WP8.1 on 1520 and W10 Mobile Technical Preview on 640XL

and fyi, w10 mobile has an unofficial way to run android apps(apk). the experience is much better than blackberry, you can put that into your consideration too.

U may also consider lumia 930, the spec is almost same with 1520 except 930 do not support SD card, non-removable battery and smaller screen size which is 5 inch

However, i think 930 also going to stop production soon, u may still can get new set if got stock

hii guys,just bought used 640,overall quite happy with the phone,construction wise better than my previous 535,that one i bought n use fr only two weeks,quite annoyed with the ghost touch issue.

anyway last nite i install some apps,not much la like whatsapp n test some games,left idle battery at 60% at 11pm,woke up this morning phone shut down,battery is at 3%...quite surprise,whats the reason fr battery drain ya?

that 640 is just 4 months old...n i forgot then state earlier,the phone suddenly become too hot,at the back of the case,i try to restart but its still the same...any apps that can check the phone temperature?
