If this purchase is for your weekend ride then perhaps it should be ok as it will be hardly used.

You need a lot of experience in looking for a 12-15 year old car. Some are fairly well maintain, while mostly aren't. Since you are looking at a sports car category, it's even harder to get a well maintain ones as those who owns this category will definately trashed their cars.
