QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Apr 12 2016, 10:20 PM) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016) No more Chinese movie 😜Oh gosh, where do I begin... From the very first scene I knew something was off... I googled-fu the movie and sure enough, the "off-ness" was stated on Wikipedia... The movie was originally intended to be filmed in New Zealand and China. And in the end, it was only filmed in New Zealand... New Zealand, as pretty as it is, is NO CHINA!!! What the heck were they thinking!! Moreover, casting Natasha Liu Bordizzo as one of the lead... there is NOTHING Chinese about her. Her demure, even the way she looks at things.. Everything is off... I am all for linking up Chinese all over the world to create new stuff, again another casting issue, Harry Shum Jr., a dancer. I have seen alot of dancers who had ventured into martial arts movies quite successfully, Zhang Ziyi & Cheng Pei-Pei comes to mind. But there is a certain stiffness to Harry and it is so obvious he is no "martial arts" person. There is NO POETRY to this movie. None what so ever. MAJOR FAIL!!!! If this is the future of Martial Arts movies.... My Two Sen. |

QUOTE(Mov_freak @ May 29 2016, 06:09 PM) Gods of Egypt (2016) Addendum Well is a fun movieFor my original review, please goto Mov Freak's Gods of Egypt Review It is STILL not good second time round... Was surprise to discover that Chadwick Boseman played Thoth (he is now more well know as Black Panther) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « What is sad is that if you watched the making of, the whole team put so much afford into this movie. I actually had more fun watching the making of, compared with the actual movie (At the beginning of the movie, there was a fight between Set and Horus, in the making of, during rehearsal, Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) kept grabbing Set (Gerard Butler) privates.... When Set was standing over Horus.... (Gerard actually blushed!! Also sad the fact I was enthusiastic about this movie was because of Alex Proyas (who also directed I Robot (2004) and Dark City (1998) both I like alot) A for effort D for delivery... QUOTE(jovigrunge @ Jun 21 2016, 05:56 PM) ![]() Mortal hero Bek teams with the god Horus in an alliance against Set, the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt's throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. IMDB - 5.6/10 This movie is good for 3D led tv. Superb CGI graphics. The storyline was just above average because I think I've seen something like this elsewhere. Gods is slightly taller and bigger than humans! Anyway credit where it's due for the effort the producers put into this movie. The rating is quite fair. The fight scenes were great and the message towards the end was the icing on the cake. Recommended. Movie tips - Two eyes is better than one eye! |

13 hours is really a nice movie with good atmos surround. The sound effect is one of the best other than mad max.
