played the demo. my impression: i'd go for the other football game (u know what i mean)

i used to ALWAYS favor the we/pes series over the other one but recently, i must say, pes is goin shi++y. pes/we series are usually better with the GAMEPLAY, not presentation (the other one is way better with presentation, licensing, soundtrack). but now?

animation very cartoonish, they run like cartoon, act like cartoon when score goals.. wth is wrong with the developer? if it aint broken, dont fix it!

so a new AI yeah? indeed. 3 of my defenders collided with each other on the pitch, and one of them ended falling (wasnt controlling neither of them). the nearest opposition striker was miles away. the heck?

and i dont like the ball physics at all (is that a volleyball theyre kickin?). and the offside mechanism is still crappy (after all this time!)

i perfectly understand that (thats why i dont even mention that other game's name)

im just venting my frustration with the 'declining' (IMHO) gameplay quality of the we/pes series. used to really enjoy updating PES rosters (wolf) on my pc before i got my 360, just for the sake of playing REAL football (used to call the other game robotic football!)

If by 'more reality' you mean three of my Portugal defenders suddenly ran into each other and two of them fell on the ground with the ball on the other side of the pitch, well then, no but thanks very much

I'll stick to the 'less reality' of the xbox pes5 on my 360 for my now very rarely pes/we fix

i'm saying, ive experienced that quite a lot in the game (demo pes2008). that rarely, very rarely happened in the previous pes/we

thats why i said i like pes5 better. whats the point of making it so 'realistic' if it kills the game?

and by your opinion "what to said, u have to start from zero to start ur another new life with PES2008", do expect the new iteration to lose many fans, imho. because fans (or fanboyism) stick to something for what they thought was great continuously over something, not a "new life"

i used to terus turn off the music even for last gen PES (which were great games!) because they were downright horrible. then, change the commentary to spanish or french. if english, cannot tahan one!

anyway, i played around 20 rounds of 360 PES2008 demo the other day, trying to 'acquire' the said sense of greatness

way too fast and too arcadey for me (the thing that i really hate with fifa series before this). they are moving and running like its a REAL 10 minutes game!

i really dislike the idea of that diving function. i mean, advocating foul play? but honestly, when playing against french, trezeguet dived in my penalty box and received a yellow; it felt like real football for a sec. but im sure, after the 68th time having your opponent doing that, even only succeeding a third of it, it would be freaking annoying

still cannot stop laughing seeing how the players run. and even more laughs at how i can dribble from middle of the field to the end and scored

and i really dislike how the AI positioned my players around, especially my defences, leaving a sole opponent attacker up front in a good position. a through ball, then its all over

conclusion; same verdict as everyone else who HAVE ACTUALLY PLAYED both top football next-gen games: gimme something worth my money konami!

oh yeah, if youre not buying ori game, dont bother refuting me to death. you WOULDNT understand the phrase "worth my money"

hahaha, felt the same everytime i posted something here. i hope nobody is taking anything here personally; i'm not bashing you or your choice to play/like the game, i'm bashing THE GAME ITSELF. deep inside, maybe im just a frustrated pes-fan (an ex now )

anyway, here's what i LIKE about 360 PES2008:

-some of the player models are done very nicely. for instance, christina of portugal (manu fan, dont marah ok! ) the facial textures are good

-i used to like PES series because imho, NO 2 goals are the same. sometimes things get chaotic in the box and the ball deflected like 10 times before hitting the net. its 'funny', in a good way. that's still there

-sometimes the players pull some dribbling moves that are very nice and just as effective to get pass the opponent. i know you can pull them via some button combination but i never bother to learn them

-ada referee on the pitch! but i hate it that i have to wait till he blew the whistle before the game can be continued!

care to elaborate?

it must be something to do with licensing. either they didnt manage to acquire it, or in the first place, never planned of getting it

why? maybe konami thought, "hey, its WE/PES, our fans will even support/praise/play it to death even if we throw in pong with bouncing football"

get your act together konami, or i will breath konami-hatred and bi@+ch of it everytime i got the chance
