Interesting stats. Not blaming Lucas or anything. Its just that Stevie and him cant synergise.
Last season when Gerrard and Lucas started together we averaged 1.875 points per game. They started together in 16 games. When one of them started as a single pivot we averaged 2.45 points per game. 1.87 points per game is 71 points over a season which would have finished 5th last season. 2.45 points per game is 93 points over a season which would have won the league! |

QUOTE(AnythingK @ Aug 18 2014, 06:03 PM) I got to agree with you on Sturridge. He do look clueless most of the time, many times he tried to dribble through opponent, but failed. Obviously you guys don't play the game.Maybe he's the same with the fans, missing Suarez too much. But I believe he will get back his form after a few more matches, maybe after Lallana, Markovic, and Allen get on. You try being the lone striker. Sturrridge's game is not as a lone striker, holding up the play. That's Lambert. He is your typical fox in the box type. Thus, his goal. There was no service from midfield. Cout was well shackled. What can he do? Yes. Suarez was missing and surely he is getting adapted to that. In the meantime service has to come from midfield. |

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Aug 19 2014, 09:33 AM) I think Defensively both serve the same purpose... albeit Stevie G is more adventurous going forwards. I think its a synergy thing. Both are conservative going forward. Stevie no loner has the legs. That's why he is placed there.Lucas was a bit lackluster the other day TBH. When both are so defensive, theres less pressure on the opposing team's defence. See the change that Allen brought? |

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Aug 19 2014, 09:37 AM) Stevie G doesnt need to go forwards.. he just needs to do his usual amazing long balls... See that's what is happening. Stevie stays back and Lucas stays back. No one to help Hendo and Cout to pressure the other team.hahaha... but really our performance in the second half was far from acceptable. |

QUOTE(Petre @ Aug 19 2014, 10:10 AM) he need to up his game... or perhaps BR has a plan for him Look at it this way.but reli tired of hearing players ran off lucas lucas didnt track bla bla... Lucas may never be the same again. BUT its not his fault he is asked to play alongside Stevie , who is juts as slow. When Stevie was injured and Lucas played with Hendo, it was fine. So you cant blame Lucas, You have to ask Rodgers why he is playing them together? |

QUOTE(AnythingK @ Aug 19 2014, 10:59 AM) A tough decision to make, I think I will choose Falcao, reason being Eto is too old, doesn't make sense to take him in now and offer 130k. If I was to employ Falcao, I would set a performance based wage system seeing that he just recovered from a very serious injury.BUT he IS an excellent finisher and seeing that we are hungry for goals......... Actually guys, Falcao will cost more than 200k per month. Theres the loan fees for Monaco as well. Understand its approx. 10mil for the season.
