No one is questioning his ability as a footballer. He's a lethal finisher with great history of scoring goals. Some of us are merely questioning whether he can stay fit in the most robust league in the whole world. Whether or not it's worth putting all our eggs in one basket. At the end of the day, people will be over the moon if we manage to sign him. But don't mistaken people questioning the signing as being completely against it. Just like how there were people who questioned Lallana's 25mil or Lovren's supposed 25mil fee.
The reason why Bony was in the picture at all is because he was a logical and perhaps deemed as a low risk target - He's at his peak, no recent injuries and a proven goal scorer in two different leagues. But we have mostly likely moved away from him due to his fee and wage demand. I.e. if we're going to overpay for someone, we might as well go for broke and go for the top shelf product i.e. Cavani, Falcao etc.
That's the risk you have to take i am afraid. That is the option available as the club didn't have a proper plan after suarez left. You either sign him and have a shot at the title or sign bony and finish 3rd or 4th.The reason why Bony was in the picture at all is because he was a logical and perhaps deemed as a low risk target - He's at his peak, no recent injuries and a proven goal scorer in two different leagues. Chelsea signed costa for 30million+ and he has already scored in his debut.James rodriguez signed for 60million and he scored yesterday.
It's too early to say if they will be mega hits but chances are they will more likely than not.
