Hello people, right now im quite in dilemma in which lens should i get. Currently i own d7k, 18-55 kitlens and 35mm prime. Planned to sell my prime and either get tamron 17-50mm non vc or sigma 50mm f1.4.
I always shoot people, kids, random stuff in street and rarely landscape. I got my speedlight, so low-light condition is not a major concern for me. My major concern will be versatality, image quality (the sharper the better) and great bokeh (love shooting people and potrait). Which lens should i get? Sigma 50mm and just use kitlen if i need wider focal length or just take the tamron? My budget quite tight so cant afford expensive lenses.
Hows the tamron image quality? Since i shoot most of the time with my prime, im afraid i missed the sharpness image when i switch to tammy. Any opinions?

Since you want versatility then get the tamron. Pretty good lens for the price although the focus abit slow and get the one with VC if you can. That one the build quality is better

For versatility get 24mm prime equivalent to 35mm on FF.

Why don't you buy a 50mm F1.8 lens first to try out the focal length? If the results of this lens are satisfactory you can get the tamron 17-50mm for a veratile upgrade to your kit lens. 50mm f1.8 is alot cheaper than the sigma 50mm. The Sigma produces better bokeh. But once you have the 50mm f1.8 you can judge whether or not you can justify to pay for the Sigma.
You can buy the 50mm f1.8 2nd hand so you probably won't even lose money when you sell it back. Its a lens worth trying first before diving for a Sigma 50mm.
FYI, I still have not upgraded my 50mm f1.8 to the sigma 50mm f1.4. It does the job well to the point that I'd rather try out lenses that do something different.
