for me savvy is good in term of fuel economic and yes the car really look cool in  grey..but in term of maintenance i think the europe engine quite hard and expensive to maintain..i prefer MyVi because it spacious and design really appeal me..dunno bout others..but in the end  it depend on thread starter and  his money tongue.gif

Contrary to popular believe.. it's not that expeanive the parts...maybe RM500 timing belt kit is expensive but price seems ok compare to other makes as it includes water pump kit.

Just some info.

Savvy's parts price

1) Wing mirror (entire unit) = RM 122.70
2) Air filter = RM 113.94
3) Oil Filter = RM 34.01
4) Tranself gear oil 75W80 (1L) = RM 44.66
5) Front headlight = RM 346.42
6) Rear tail Light = RM 195.27
7) 3rd brake light = RM103.70
8) Speedo meter (UK version, part# PW865651) = RM436.10
9) Timing Belt kit with bearing (part# 7701473001) = RM516.74
10) Radio Antenna (part# PW851932) = RM167.00

Oil & air  filter change is 20k km..there's much cheaper aftermarket air filter like washable redline..I feel it's the most pricey in the list...the gear oil is 40k and timing belt 60k..the gear oil is synthetic needs 3L..got cheaper alternative I heard owners use Tranself mineral type instead.

Localised parts ( apart from proton ori) is beginning to appear in the market.

Oil filter for Savvy is RM7 and air filter RM16..

There will be a cheaper alternative for Savvy's timing belt kit which is RM500++

Proton cut throat..even renault's ori oil filter is cheaper than Proton's filter...

Expensive parts? hardly...that's the beauty of the net, infos travel very fast.
One other nice thing about savvy is the gearbox which contributes to nice driving experience...not talking about AMT though cos different story..

If you like manual tranny car..you'll feel nice changing gears in Savvy manual which is stiff and solid..clutch which is hard also can be tweaked to become softer...

One lady friend who's been drving kancil agrees with me...she feels her kancil like a toy after drving my savvy that is include overall experience also, overall the car feels heavy and drives like a bigger car, might not be a better choice for girls thou... perodua manual gearbox is too soft too lembik..including Myvi manual..

And at least you don't have to bring in certain part from other countries(ie. like drveshaft from japan for corolla altis) since savvy is 100% proton's product.

Correction: SAVVY IS NOT A 3-star NCAP neither is MyvI. Myvi is not boon or passo. We should take the actual result as a reference not to base the car on other cars.

SAVVY'S NCAP actual result IS NOT OUT yet... a 3-star car mentioned by car mag is just a basis for the car's potential to achieve a minimal ratings for a car with good safety features..

Many journalists have said Savvy has better ride & handling than Myvi...I think this is virtually agreed by all.

Savvy's chassis is tough from the inside frames to exterior panels. It uses some kind of special steel with rigidity almost equivalent to a Rover75. It's the toughest Proton car to date even tougher than Proton's latest hot looking car, the Satria NEO.

I'm 5'9'', 175cm, I find the interior space is reasonable. More spacios than Kelisa and PIcanto. Still find it strange people complaining about space when I feel the rear leg room is pretty big, even if you drive like ah beng with steering far from your shoulder.

i think we have got it all wrong about what exactly is comfort..

spaciousness is not the only factor

the ride quality does make a major difference

too much body rolls can make you feel nausea.

Mostly what I said is what I had experienced...I saw many passengers of those big MPVs vomiited by the roadside along the winding roads of cameron highlands

then does the rear passengers complain about ride bumpiness even at hi speed PLUS highway?!

savvy excels in this area the ride is firm yet comfortable.

you ask yourself.
