QUOTE(Old1030 @ Aug 7 2014, 10:24 PM)
Every time i reboot my phone, i must import again all my contact from sim card to the internal memory, even before i reboot i swear i did copy and some of the contact i manually key in into phone memory, after reboot all gone. Only left sims card contact

Today wierd thing happen, my phone auto shut down during power low, then after i charge and restart the phone i lost my setting ie notifications tones and etc, and now my (enter) key from keyboard gone.

Sometime the battery will last until 2% then only will auto shut down, sometimes it will shut down even at 6%. I did not install any battery apps

I using the 64gb china version, with cobalt as my primary theme, and jumble with other few themes as font, green theme as boot logo and few other as icon.

Im on cm11s25r

Any advise
*
any reason why you don't use Google/ Gmail Sync for contacts?

tbh, i noticed a lot of people are like that as well... never use Google to sync contacts. so when phone gets stolen, or SIM card kaput, everything gone... i really don't understand why people don't wanna sync to cloud and make a copy...

hi all,

seem like the volume earpiece is quite common for OPO. i planning to buy  OPO but seem like the phone is still have many problems such as yellow tint, volume issue, auto shutdown. now thinking OPO  or G3 smile.gif
*
personally... 2 out of 3 issues you mentioned... not really an issue/ problem for me.

yellow tint... stated many times... it goes off after time. its very likely glue. reason why its obvious on OnePlus One is coz most of the phones is super fresh out from oven (factory la). for other manufacturers, it could have been in warehouse for a few weeks before being shipped out.

volume issue... ok, this one... i guess can be a problem.

auto shutdown. so far, this seems to be when the phone battery is at 5%. self protect mechanism, i guess. but i'm sure there are some hacks that can disable this...

thx for all the advice smile.gif but the G3 camera speed is darn fast! how would you guy comment on the OPO camera speed ?
*
awfully slow.

slow to launch. slow to capture/ write.

ya, if there's anything i'm not too happy, its camera quality. what i understand, its a software issue.

got my OPO 64gb black
from seven mobile yesterday
they sell nillkin case and china no brand tempered glass and i bought it doh.gif
and the yellow band on my phone is not so noticeable  smile.gif
feel weird after upgrading from iphone4

anyone can recommend me some essential apps for OPO/android
movie player app? file manager?

is there a way to change dns settings without rooting ?
i cant access brows.gif  sites
*
movie player apps. not really necessary since the video player (when you launch from gallery) can play most of the files... i tested with a 10GB bluray rip file (with DTS audio) and it worked fine.

but the stock video player don't have gestures.

if you want another with gesture support (like volume and brightness control), try MX Player. its what i use on my Note 2. but you'll need to install custom codec to be able to play those DTS, etc... you can find the custom codec for MX Player from XDA. there's an official thread for it by ktsamy.

can change dns through wifi settings
forget wifi connection first

then select wifi > put password > advance > set DNS/IP from there.
*
this one... do note... WIFI only. don't think its really possible with 3G/4G connection / mobile data.

Dont get u on DNS thing ? what site cant access ?
*
local ISP block some sites... p2p, etc...

if use different DNS (like Google, OpenDNS), blocked sites are no longer an issue... coz most block is done on DNS.

but i've yet to find out how we can change DNS for 3G/4G connections...

Since Android 4.4, Google changed the way Android queries the dns redirection. For now, it is only possible with root. The only app I discovered (through searching) is Override DNS(paid) which is the only one currently working for KK.
*
oh... nice. but paid... *sigh*

how come no one can do for FREE... heh heh... smile.gif

CM, ROM cooks should bake this feature...

Download Android Sensor Box
*
ya, i realised this phone don't have the sensor calibration feature. i know Samsung phone's got this.

what about other brands like HTC, Nexus? do they have this?

what you do is just put the phone on a flat surface, then click to run the calibration.

Hi everyone,

I have 2 questions.

When I tried to change from Dalvik to ART a warning message displays.

"ART is not officially supported by CyanogenMod as its highly experimental and has the potential to cause instability...bla bla bla"

1. Is it save to still change to ART?

2. Is there any way to see if my NFC is functioning? I have tried to connect to my M8 but nothing happens. Have also tried swiping my IC at the back but no sound came out. Amy apps to check on this?

Thanks for all your help!!!
*
ART is still experimental. that's why it's not the default runtime yet. but what rumours have been going around, it will be the default one in the next android version -- Android L.

that implies that ART is quite stable now.

however, another problem here is that... apps may not be optimised for ART yet. in such case, you'll end up with apps not working, etc...

as for NFC, i use this apps:

Hi nice to hear that yellow tint problem solved. Just want to ask i bought this phone yesterday 64gb from 7mobile, currently the phone version is cyanogenMod version 11.0-XNPH22R and i got OTA update notification for 25R. It there any problem with this after i update to 25R? So what is your version after the yellow tint gone? Need your expertise to advise. Still new to this phone. Thanks.
*
actually... there's a difference between screen being yellowish (hue/ saturation) vs tint (glue).

i think many though screen being yellowish is a defect when its something that can be adjusted from the settings. the tint caused by glue is the one at the 'bottom' of the screen.

this update should only fix the hue/ saturation -- originally the screen was more yellowish. now its white/ blueish.

this update won't fix the glue thingy. the glue thingy will go off on its own over time.

Depends what kind of yellow tint,  if whole screen is yellow then it's most likely screen calibration. If only at the bottom it is glue and won't go away with any updates.

updated on Page 1. latest firmware should be 30O but it make take a few days (probably till end of week) before everyone gets it. so be patient. you can either wait till end of this week and update at one go... or update to 25R now and then wait again for another update in a few days time.

Thanks a lot for your clear explanation. I am still beginner for this phone. Phone phone got yellow tint at the bottom. The 7mobile staff told me the yellow tint will dissapear automatically while we using the phone for sometime. Don't know how true is that. How to check my phone is CM11 or CM11s?
*
if i'm not mistaken, this build: 11.0-XNPH22R should be 11S. so any OTA updates, it will still put you on CM11S. smile.gif

yes, yellow tint at the bottom = glue. it will go away after a few days of use because by then, the glue would have dried up.

For example the yellow tint , network problems , call quality etc . Do u have any problem with the phone ?
*
are those you mentioned already on Page 1?

for me... so far, no real issues with the phone.

btw, when you mentioned OP just now, you meant OnePlus? or Original Poster aka Thread Starter (TS)?
