i'm just taking a guess here... i doubt they have the technical capabilities to solve your problem. sales is their main activity. they probably just replace faulty units bought from them with a new one.

since yours not bought from them, they probably dun want the liability of wrecking your phone.

again, i'm just guessing... anyone who knows better how directd works pls chime in
*
i suspect...

they don't have the expertise to repair this phone yet. their chinese supplier probably got some way for them to help claim manufacturer warranty -- so i guess local repairs will not be done.

as such, any unit not bought from them, its very much trial and error but seeing how busy they are, probably not worth anyone's time and money to work on repairs.

just tried out greenify.

basically it put my twitter apps into hibernation. if i hibernate my twitter apps, i guess it means it won't check for updates and i'll need to manually launch it?

hmm... isn't that just fancy word for 'force stop'? smile.gif

Force Stop have to start over and reload, Greenify is Hibernate, it won't start over but instead, it resume where you left off.
Force Stop = Start Over and Reload for new update
Greenify = Pause, Hibernate and Refresh for new update
*
ah, good way to put it. i guess ya... i forgot that Force Stop meant exiting program and it'll take 'longer' to restart apps.

QUOTE

Refresh here means just click on the apps (on homescreen/ apps drawer) to 'wake it up again', right? once wake, it stays awake or greenify will hibernate it shortly after that?

what you see is after 2-3 weeks of not-very-often use... reason being still no SIM card. so just used for bit of browsing...

but ya, i'd say the yellow tint goes off. that's why i never bothered to ask for another set when i first saw the yellow tint... very sure its glue and would go away...

having said the above, sometimes the yellow tint on a different unit could be genuine defect... i can't guarantee 100% la... but... very unlikely lor. i'd say better to check on dead pixels (and dem... what's that other term... lazy pixel, or... i forgot again...)

on closer look now... can see still got only a bit left of yellow tint on the bottom left of the phone (on the photo, that means top left). right side of the phone (or on photo, it's bottom left) seems to be clear... no yellow tint liao...

The best option is still to carefully choose when u buy.  Save a lot of time trying to get rid of it.  Now that the price is so cheap everyone can just go for the 64gb.
*
i dun think got "save a lot of time"... we were not even putting any effort to remove the yellow tint. just use as normal as and when we could -- it's still without sim card, so most of the time, screen is off anyway.

so for those not so fussy... it does look like over time and use, the yellow will go away. no need to intentionally UV it, put under sun, etc... we just used it like normal and yes, many times, phone is idle with screen off... smile.gif

Better not to have the yellow tint in the first place and enjoy a perfect phone,  if u have a choice to choose,  why choose one with yellow?
*
well, i don't go intentionally choose. but knowing that it will go away, i rather not waste time going through one by one... and if don't have, don't buy? a bit difficult if someone needs to get the phone on that day. and if they are just going to give up OnePlus One and get something else, kinda 'sad'... since OnePlus One is actually one impressive device, for its price.

not that i'm not a picky customer. i do check for dead pixels and won't hesitate to return the phone if i see one dead pixel.

but yellow tint, for me... is a no issue.

Hi there! It is my first post in LY.  biggrin.gif

Planned to get one international set ,but getting tired of begging for invitation code in OPO forum.  rclxub.gif

Now would like to get a China set, however I saw a post in other forum mentioned that bulk imported OPO China sets in Malaysia (eg DD or satugadget)  might not be the authentic one (As some parts inside the phone have been changed and replaced by some dishonest sellers in China before sending them to Malaysia!)  shocking.gif

Would like to hear from anyone who bought China set from local sellers, icon_question.gif
1-how is the performance of the phone? Any problem so far?
2-Is it really better to buy an international set?
Thanks.

now thinking of getting OPO from DD...

sorry, i didnt read all the posts from V1~V4, so i am gonna ask a lazy question, is the set from DD have bugs?

*
what kind of bugs are you expecting? no need to read from v1 to v4 la. imagine note 2 buyers going thru v20+ before buying... tongue.gif

but at least READ PAGE 1. we try to list possible issues and fixes there...

need some helps n guide!

currently im stuck with my iphone 4 on contact migration to my new OPO...

my new place no Unifi... that's how n why i'm stuck!

followed the steps to sync my contact to google, but its seem not working as im not on WIFI...

how? advise pls?
*
just remember that once moved to the Android phone, always better to then SYNC contacts with Google/ Gmail.

in fact, moving from iPhone to Android, I always suggest importing contacts to Google first. Then sign in with your username and everything appears. just remember to periodically backup (export your contacts) -- in case you accidentally massive wipe your Google contacts (i dun see how anyone can end up doing that, but never know)

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Aug 2 2014, 04:46 PM)
Now i'm slightly confused, there are four things I received from DHL.

1. DHL Express arrival notice. I guess this is the infamous RM 162 letter. It stated: "Kindly confirm your instructions for DHL to clear the shipment and make payment on behalf of your company by endorsing this indemnity letter and return it to us by fax or email." No thanks, I think i'll handle it myself. Not just saving cost but I might learn something new.

2. DHL Airway Bill.

3. ComGateway commercial invoice & packing slip.

4. A form from: B.P. PEN. KANAN PENGARAH KASTAM
                                      KOMPLEX CARGO LTSAAS
                                      SUBANG, SELANGOR D.E.
which contains the consignor, consignee and value of the package.

To be honest I'm not sure what I supposed to do with document no. 4. Also which documents should I bring to SIRIM HQ along with RM 100?
*
honestly, its just a piece of paper or two. can't bring everything with you??? better than having to *facepalm* and then tell the fellow you come back another day coz the form is at home... collecting dust. tongue.gif

hear that art still beta version . any feed back ? stable ?
*
won't say its 'beta' version. what i understand, most of the coding is good to go. just waiting for the next version of Android which will make ART the default runtime.

the issue here is more to do with apps. some apps are not coded properly for ART yet. the good developers are already working on this and better ones have no issues running on either one.

I have been using ART for a few weeks on my note 3. Personally I have not found an app that fail to work. I think most app would be fine and those i heard not running are mainly games.
*
ya, what i understand, usually its the games itself. but i know many who can't live without games. after all, what's the point of having quad core if the phone is just gonna be used for whatsapp and LINE? wink.gif

I don't play any serious games on my phone or tablets. Had never like such stuffs even on PC. Personally I find it a terrible experience on such small displays. Both my sons ( age 25 n 30) also doesn't like gaming on their gadgets. Once a while I will play Scrabble only. I do load some games just to test out the processor but had never gone beyond half hour most of the time
*
QUOTE(droidtrix @ Aug 4 2014, 09:13 AM)
agreed with Uncle Benny, I do have very minor games like Chess/ Scrabble, this i play when i am in Bank or during my free/lunch time.
*
hmmm... interesting.

i mean, i know that games are the ones that usually drive the need for better/ faster processors. same applies to PC industry.

else... most of our other apps... usually can do with even dual core, no?

but ya, i know... there's also energy efficiency, etc...

for me, i do have some games which keeps me occupied during my 'free' times like: Spirit Stone (card collection game that uses the bejeweled-style game), Asphalt (just in case anyone needs to see how 'smooth' the phone is), and FF3. i still have a few Square Enix games bought during sales but yet to start... :S

@benny888 you should try Bards Tale. really nice. i guess u could try it on your Nexus 7. smile.gif
