I have been using ART for a few weeks on my note 3. Personally I have not found an app that fail to work. I think most app would be fine and those i heard not running are mainly games.
*
Games are much difficult to code into ART compatible due to size and line of codes. Hence why Google push out as alternative in KitKat, so developers may start familiar themselves with ART, before ART become the only option in runtime.

ok. im wondering. if i uninstall the app > reboot > install a new one from play store.

will that give any problem to my device? or unroot my device?
*
Just download and flash in recovery. This way, root manager app stays in System app ( which had higher access privilege )

Malaysia can use google play music ?
*
You refer to Play Music All Access ? To buy songs ? Right now cant.
If you refer to using the Play Music apps for play songs in your phone, can.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 4 2014, 11:30 AM)
nope. unless your Gmail account is somehow 'attached' to USA.

in my case, my Google profile is half here, half there. so i end up getting stuffs like TV/ Movies. but... some apps for Malaysia... i can't install.
*
Wait, you meant you dont have Play Music apps ? Or cant purchase songs ?

If you've used it for like maybe 1 year ago, now they're totally different. No bulk and bloat. Very sleek and smooth. I really love the hover feature.
*
Been using PA for few years, since when they are bulk and bloat !? rclxub.gif

I was a Gnex user for 2+ years so it's kind of bloated (too many features, lacks optimization) but nowadays with different sets of values, it's all better. Not sure when did PA supported N4 tho.  tongue.gif
Pie mode> and generally how sistematic PA is with their updates. I find CM a little buggy at times.
*
Before JellyBean, PA was features rich, but I dont call that bloat, as I use them all and it doesnt impact performance. I missed those day with Hybrid Engine and HALO biggrin.gif

Yes. Changing the nav/status bar colours and stuff. Tablet UI etc. Making them transparent even before Google did them on KK.  rclxms.gif

Kinda wows people that time.  brows.gif
*
And Google adopt it in Android L with Material design, so much win for PA rclxms.gif

Same here. I never use PIE.  tongue.gif

PIE is so good. At PA 4.3 before, I can guaranteed you that I use PIE faster than on-screen button. I practically PIE'd and completed before animation even start ( if only I could record down to demonstrate it ) tongue.gif

How about V-moda ? Easily best bang for your buck.

QUOTE(DannyOP @ Aug 5 2014, 10:24 AM)
How often do you use the earphones? In my case, almost never, unless I'm travelling, so something like the pistons will be more than enough. When I'm at home I prefer a real stereo hifi setup with speakers, and don't like having sound pounding so close to my ears.
*
Same. Hence why I use Brainwavz M4, very good sound signature with enough boss ( not too much ), and most important under RM200, because I tend to break my IEMs every year due to accident.

Actually if u go to any Sony store try out their earphones below rm200 also surprisingly good.  Should be able to get better prices if u search online. I find some of their more expensive models too artificial though,  so much bass it overpowers the mid and treble.
*
Last time try out highest end of XBA, quite nice. XBA lower end, bass just cover over mid and not enough highs. For general brands, Sony and Philips have good overall quality.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 5 2014, 11:08 AM)
not that often... just watch movies occasionally. that's why i'm curious to know how big a difference, especially when compared with the one i got with my Note 2...
btw, how did your phone go? all OK? fixed? or did you meet up with one of the members here to help you out?
*
Depends. I once let me friend compare IEM and normal earphone, he said no differences rclxub.gif
Try and see, then you'll know how much differences you able to hear. Ears can train one biggrin.gif

looks more like yellow. and not surprised. many optical shops now sell glasses that cut down on the bright lue lights emited by LCD/ LED screens. supposedly too much of this light is no good. so these glasses soften the 'light' and reduce the blue... making things more yellow.

see:

Can just use apps like Twilight. It makes your display color warm, so it's easier and friendlier to your eyes, and helps on sleep also.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 5 2014, 05:20 PM)
personally, i don't think its good idea to ditch CM.

just solely concentrating on hardware alone isn't going to help a company make $$$. what differentiate one phone from the other is software.

Samsung started off on the right track and had some useful stuffs on their earlier phones. ask any Note 2 users -- they stuff implemented on that phone was amazing... floating browser, floating video player, pen functions, etc... it really differentiated it. but of course we all know Samsung got carried away and put it waAAAAaaAAAaaay too many software, to the point many became useless.

no doubt the phone's open to other software and there are developers... but how many can help push OnePlus and make OnePlus stand out?

i've seen how some ROMS for note 2 claim to have so many new Note 3 + S5 functions. after testing them... we came to realise, many don't work, or not stable. i found out many note 2 users eventually went back to stock. i'm also back to 'stock' ROM -- ARHD.

and i don't think AOSP is just going to cut it. if they want 'regular users' to buy the phone, it needs to have some useful features (software) that may not come with AOSP. things like floating apps, off-screen gestures, etc... sometimes, Google don't have all these. take a basic example: calendar widget that displays the month. Google Calendar don't have such widget though its very useful. Samsung's got that with the s planner widget. one glance, i can see the whole month's activities, including birthdates, public holidays, etc..
*
I don't see that as disadvantages. Having additional options is always good. While CM are features rich but smooth, there's still certain learning curve. AOSP just plain simple.
I could imagine how bad their sales in China market if there's no Color OS, because China users actually like Color OS.

I'm cheapskate when come to SP as I rather change few then stick with one expensive sp.
Work well also? or working 50/50?

Why la?
It's like drive and change Proton every year, vs drive BMW for many years. I'll definitely goes for latter tongue.gif just my 2 cents.

Depends on how many years you tend to drive .. I drive 7 'cars' in space of 2 months, 2 Xiaomi Mi3, 1 LG G2, 4 Oneplus One, .. whatever I buy will only benefit the next owner lol
*
Ya, but those are at least Toyota and above. If you keep on swapping between Lenovo, Huawei, 9tology sweat.gif etc, then no point biggrin.gif

You meant OnePlus One ? 3 hours SOT sound very unlikely ( worse than my N5 with 2300mAh ), where's these 'Some said' ? ? ? rclxub.gif Most OPO can achieve 5-6 hours SOT.

They use ColorOS is because they can't have Google Play in China no? That's why all China OPO come with ColorOS in default.
*
China users prefer iOS-like interface and thus lean toward ColorOS type of UI.

Pay less for more. Moto still not one of these brand but I like their under powered hardware + optimised software.

Same strategy with Apple.
*
Wouldnt say under-powered, but just what they needed. Rather others especially Samsung doing bad job at software ( or simply stuffing too many bloatwares ) and thus required really powerful hardware just to run it ( and not even smooth enough ).

Wrong word, not under powered but does not require very high spec to run smoothly.

I hope they change in upcoming Note 4 which release in Sept 3.
*
Hopefully. If another failure product like S5, Samsung prepare to going down.
