QUOTE(CMW123 @ Jul 30 2014, 05:01 PM) if you are referring to only length, quite a number of developments has it.but if you are referring to minimum size to match olympic size (including width), then the pool of development shrunk considerably. usually the development would market these as "lapping pools" in which it could be as tight as just 2 lanes worth of 50m length pool. |

QUOTE(kochin @ Jul 30 2014, 05:09 PM) if you are referring to only length, quite a number of developments has it. Boss, I am referring to the length, which is for the long course (50m), not the short course (25m). but if you are referring to minimum size to match olympic size (including width), then the pool of development shrunk considerably. usually the development would market these as "lapping pools" in which it could be as tight as just 2 lanes worth of 50m length pool. Which condo has pool which meet the olympic requirements, which is 50m length, 25m width and 10 lanes...(maybe not on the 10 lanes...hehe) Haha, which condo has 2 lanes of 50m pool? QUOTE(PeriPeri2014 @ Jul 30 2014, 06:48 PM) A lot of swimmers would prefer the 50m distance ma, especially if they swim regularly. However, I would think that this is rarely a major influence in decision making for a condo purchase. |

If one is looking for a full 50m lap swim, he almost has to also check if it is possible to have uninterrupted swim for the whole lap. In some of the pools which I went to, they reserve a few lanes by putting dividing cable on it. Anyway swimming pool is kind of luxury item these days. With the dry spell going on, soon we are going to run out of water to drink/wash/bath.but i do manage to have many session of uninterrupted swim.. feel superb after that This post has been edited by puchongite: Jul 31 2014, 08:02 AM |

Every single condo wants to qualify as olympic size ke ? Come on, nothing so great to qualify as olympic size !
Condo swimming pool is a private pool, not public sports pool ! |

the depth cannot be olympic standard. too deep. need lifeguard.
1 end is more than 6ft deep. the other end is about 12ft deep. best public swimming pool is commonwealth swimming pool at bukit jalil. This post has been edited by HELLO HELLO: Jul 31 2014, 03:58 PM |

That's good enough to get rid of the nonsense standing in the middle of the pool ! I love it !1 end is more than 6ft deep. the other end is about 12ft deep. best public swimming pool is commonwealth swimming pool at bukit jalil. |

QUOTE(puchongite @ Jul 31 2014, 04:04 PM) it's a covered pool hence the drop in temperature.try it and you would know what i mean. it's not like a typical exposed pool. indoor pool usually will have this problem. i prefer proper outdoor pool to indoor pool. lack of breeze or something. QUOTE(HELLO HELLO @ Jul 31 2014, 04:10 PM) yup. you cannot hold on the floating lane as well.... lifeguard will whistle and give warning. too exaggerated lah. butterfly also won't slam to the floor even with 1.2m depth.good n deep enough to learn butterfly stroke... avoid to slam your face on the tile surface underwater before master it. speaking of which, anybody know any swimming coach? looking for one preferably in pj for age 4-12. thanks. |

Trying to be more technical. Below is the specs and criteria to qualify for olympic
Length : 50 m (164 ft 1 in) Width : 25 m (82 ft 0 in) Depth : FR 2 : minimum 1.35 m (4 ft 5 in) between 1 m and 6 m from ends; minimum of 1.0 m (3 ft 3 in) elsewhere FR 3 Swimming Pools for Olympic Games and World Championships: minimum 2.0 m (6 ft 7 in); recommended 3.0 m (9 ft 10 in) Number of lanes : 10 Lane width : 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) Water temperature : 25–28 °C (77–82 °F) Light intensity : minimum 1500 lux (140 footcandles) Volume : Based on a nominal depth of 2 m, this is 2,500,000 L (550,000 imp gal; 660,000 US gal) or, in terms of cubic volume, 2,500 m3 (88,000 cu ft), as is commonly quoted. |

QUOTE(HELLO HELLO @ Jul 31 2014, 04:38 PM) seni tak ada lifeguard.... pool not deep enough to have lifeguard. nowaday new condo swimming pool most depth around 3-4ft only. aiya life guard= costcost = higher maintenance. even they got lifeguard also Banglas one, Myammar ones... if we could just have those Baywatch lifeguards like David Haselhoff (dun mistaken of gay) of course in high end condos.. |

Sorry to bump a 10 year thread
I'm sure after a decade there hasn't been many condo with 50m swimming pool My dad coaches and swims over 3km a day. It would be great if someone can recommend a condo with a 50m pool , it would be more economical than a club membership that discourage coaching . |
