Helping a friend to buy a laptop, need your kind advice. Kinda confused by the multitude of choices out there now

All recommendations are most welcomed!

1. Preferred Brand - None (as long as there is good warranty coverage)
2. Budget - 1.5k ~ 2k
3. Usage - Home use only, casual gaming, watching movies, internet, homework
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15.6" and above

Other requirements
1. Windows pre-installed in a must (8.1)
2. Office pre-installed (or add-on)
3. Decent speakers
4. At least 4gb ram + 500gb hd
5. Decent trackpad/keyboard
6. Lots and lots of connectivity ports (USB in particular)
7. Good screen for movies (HD, IPS, LED etc)
