Hi guys, would you be able to help me find a new laptop? My current one is ASUS UL80VT which I've had for 4.5 years and still working fine except that the screen is kaput, now connecting to a LCD monitor at home. Battery life after all those years is still 3 hrs, which is very good considering I never removed the battery even when fully charged.

As per thread requirements:

1. Preferred Brand: Any but preferably ASUS.
2. Budget: RM3,000 to RM3,500
3. Usage: Heavy (Work, Personal, occasionally will bring offshore)
4. Screen Size: 13 to 15 inch

Further minimum requirements
- Windows OS (Preferably Windows 7, I plan to free upgrade to 10)
- i5, 2Ghz Processor
- 8 GB RAM
- Both integrated and dedicated graphics card (Average OK)
- 500 GB SATA HDD
- Very good battery life (> 8 hrs when standby and nothing else running)

Bonus:
- Hybrid SSD (Any size)

Notes:
- I'm not looking for a gaming laptop, DoTA 2 is the most graphically intensive game I would play. I mostly play old-school / indie games.
- I plan to learn Linux OS on the side, so laptop needs to be powerful and compatible enough to run VirtualBox, VMWare e.g. Ubuntu 14.4.4 within Windows 7
- Able to smoothly run graphically-intensive software e.g. SolidWorks, MATLAB
- I thought seriously about a Mac, but VBA ActiveX macros is commonplace in my workplace and I help develop them too.
- I live in Sarawak, but am okay with max 1 month waiting period
