Need help in getting a laptop for travel use.

1. Preferred Brand - None but must be reliable
2. Budget - 3.5 - 4k
3. Usage - for work
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 11 - 12" IPS

Other requirements
1. Minimum Win7 (Pro would be good)
2. Office pre-installed (or add-on)
3. At least 4gb ram + 256 SSD
4. Decent trackpad/keyboard
5. Haswell i3 or i5.
6. Decent connectivity ports but don't mind the tradeoff.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hoho you are in luck brows.gif

However, 11-12" notebooks might be relatively more expensive and perhaps too small (especially those with insanely high resolutions laugh.gif
I personally think 13" notebooks are better in terms of ergonomics and viewing pleasure, yet still not too heavy:

13"

**Not all specs fit your requirements (especially SSD)
*Prices in RRP
It will be good to opt for warranty extensions for expensive ultrabooks such as these, as they can be expensive to repair

If you don't mind using Mac OSX, then the MBA13 (RM3.2k variant) will be the perfect pick. Use remaining budget to upgrade to 8GB RAM, and extend warranty to 3 years (~RM800) for peace of mind.

As for a Windows system, I will definitely take the XPS13, bargain or dig until I can get one with 3 years warranty laugh.gif... but I'm biased, so don't take my word for it laugh.gif Try out the systems for yourself, one of the biggest problems with thin and light notebooks such as these are the shallow keyboards (will feel pain after prolonged usage), and the Mac and XPS 12/13 series have some of the best KB out thereĀ  icon_rolleyes.gif

Just my 2 cents

Thanks for your 2cents. Would love the MBA but I would prefer IPS for a quick presentation.
I am already having a Toshiba 13" R830 for daily use. So I would like a 2nd one for travel use.

Thanks again.
