How about Lenovo G40-70 (Intel i5 4200U) and HP Pavilion 15-N227TX, i5-4200U + Nvidia 840M@RM1849[2.33kg], 4GB, 500GB, Ubuntu because I prefer intel i5 than intel i3 and good built?

I need a recommendation of a laptop.

What I'm currently using: a 3 year old ASUS N55SF (The GPU fail on me now)

Preferred brand: Any

Budget: Maybe not more than RM2,500 but don't strictly stick to it because I'm not aware of my needs vs price.

Features: Lightweight, good battery life, I work mobile (home+office)
Usage: MS Office, Adobe AI+PS, Video streaming/recording capable, light gaming (Anything that is equivalent and enough to run Dota2 with good FPS is fine), general multimedia use (movie playback/music/surfing/torrent)

Preferred screen size: 14" maybe? Currently using 15.6" (and it's heavy)

What I don't really care about: Sound quality.

For the updates, I already bought Macbook Pro Retina Display on 31st July.. To be honest, I'm quite scared first to use Mac since I never use a Mac before.. I've been loyal Windows user for 20 years.. But this year, my works need to do lots of photography editing, so I followed your advice and get a Macbook.. It is so good in doing photography editing, the color reproductions also is very good and the OS is very snappy compared to Windows (not trying to be a fanboys).. I love its trackpad and keyboard so much.. No wonder Macbook's price is higher than some Windows laptop because of quality.. You got for what you pay for..

I need some recommendations for a budget laptop.
1. Preferred Brand - None (as long as there is good warranty coverage  & decent after sales service)
2. Budget - 1.5k ~ 1.8k
3. Usage - Portability is of utmost importance as my work requires me to move around.
- mainly used for excel work, watching movies, internet browsing
- I tend to multi task n run many programs at once (skype, excel, itunes & chrome with many many tabs). Would an i3 CPU suffice or do I need to get an i5?
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14 inches.

Other requirements
1. Windows pre-installed
2. Decent speakers
3. At least 8gb ram
4. Good screen for video playback (1080p support)
5. Dedicated media buttons (play/pause/next) preferred.

*Touch screen is not a must but would be a plus to have.
*Dedicated GPU not required as I have a desktop for gaming.
