Hi all sifus, I want to buy a notebook
1. Preferred Brand: Lenovo Dell
2. Budget: Around 3,000
3. Usage: Surfing, Draw Engineering CAD, Gaming but not hardcore type
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15

I am looking for something that will last me for at least two years for my assignments. I won't be needing it after that since i already have a desktop at home.

Any recommendations for a laptop that looks like Mac Book Pro? I was almost going to get it but many reviews aren't good about using Excel and Word with Mac.

Lenovo Yoga 2 was the closest but there are many complains about the reliability issue and short battery life.

Going to buy a midrange gaming laptop budget is RM3500 and below. I have 2 model in my mind now.

1 - Lenovo y50-70

2 - MSI GE60 2PL Apacer

I read from view Y50 screen is not good. it that true?
How about MSI? Any deal breaker?

Am in the market for a new laptop. Budget around 3k (will try hard not to go above), and will prefer something 14" or less (so that it's more portable). Mix usage - multimedia with mediocre gaming needs (e.g. Need For Speed series, Football manager etc.) and some productivity stuff (Excel and powerpoint). Need something reliable because i don't want to run and chase service centers all day...

Sifus, May I ask when got Alienware laptops Promo?

Budget : my limit is 4k max.... can't go any higher.
Purpose: 3D rendering, especially Surpac and ArcGIS. these requires quite a heavy power, and i dont want to regret later if its not enough to support high workload
Screen size: im keen to 14" or 15" only, as i can hook up the laptop to a monitor for bigger screen
Weight : not so important, but preferably mobile. Can carry in backpack
Brand: any. i have msi, asus in mind. but no specific models

a dekspot would be more sensible. but since its coming out of my own pocket but will be used at work place, i prefer laptop so i can carry it back home. been told to get a gaming laptop with good ventilation for heat dispense.

i dont think ultrabook is a good recommendation. thanks anyway. anything else? my manager suggests to buy laptop with double ventilation fan. he's using asus rog

** i dont need touchscreen laptop. those are useless in my case.
