Hmm based on the local Malaysian alienware website the only option for m17x is gtx 880m and ram only at 1600mhz too. If it can be upgraded I'd certainly consider alienware

Hello! I'm trying to decide on a new gaming laptop, and would appreciate if you guys could give me some advice. Thanks in advance! =)

1. Brand: I've narrowed it down to Asus G551JM (either the 4gb or 2gb gpu, I don't mind whichever is better value) or the Lenovo Y50-70. I used to use Dell, but my XPS15 L502 so many problems I'm kinda scared of Dell already =(

2. Budget: My budget is 3-4k+, more value is better.

3. Usage: I'm mostly going to use it for gaming and some college work. I game for long hours sometimes, so a good cooling system is recommended. But I usually play MMOs especially WoW, and only rarely play more graphic intensive games like Tomb Raider etc.

4. Screen size: 15.6' is fine. But I heard the Lenovo Y50-70 has pretty bad screen quality. Is this true and is the Asus screen better? Thanks!

p.s I've also heard about Asus after sales service being very bad, how is Lenovo's? But Asus seems to have better quality hardware..so I really confused now. Thanks for any feedback guys!

Budget may be unlimited, but I am looking for something that is not as heavy and big as a brick. It also must have very good battery life. It's basically going to be a laptop that I will carry around a lot, with the slight chance that I might have to do some 2D and 3D things while on the go. If it has a detachable screen (or flippable), that would be a plus!

Hi all sifu, would like to ask for some advice.

Am looking at HP Pavilion series, 15.6-inch. One has i5 while the other has i7, will the number of cores vary much in the performance or are they both too fast to make a difference?

Using the laptop for engineering programs and 3D modeling such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, sometimes dota 2

The price difference is about 300-500 for both of the laptops, so it's kind of a headache, roughly a month of pocket money I have to sacrifice.

Are there any other recommendations, such as any other builds that I can get for about RM2000-2500? Just a thrifty engineering student

Been waiting for months just to choose laptop which between Rm3500-Rm4000. Even I got lots of assignments and games waiting for me but Im still thinking should I go for Asus or no

MSI Lenovo and that Acer V15 okay. Design almost same as Asus G551. But then I heard they say MSI Lenovo Acer got their own issue as well
