First year free is good enough, every benefit is prone for revision and removal. Hence like my signature says "enjoy the best, expect the worst". laugh.gif

Why does he need to pay for AF since he will cancel it after a year? First year's AF is free, second year is chargeable but he will cancel it by then if it is not waived.
So long you don't spend after AF is charged, you don't need to pay for it.

It's also based on anniversary of other cards. I don't think it is 24 months but more than a year but lesser than two years.
