i don't have a freed, never test drive, and in fact never own any 6-7 seater mpv before. but my opinion is that freed is the cheapest 'luxury' mpv in the class, therefore is worth buying. Just that the odds exterior that put off many people.

which class you compared to? i personnally think Freed should compare to those with sliding door & flat floor MPV. meaning for me, i think alza, exora, innova, grand livina are out.

just my personal opinion..

Freed's big bonus against its competitors of d same class, age and price
+ high roof line = loads of headspace
+ sliding doors
+ walk-through seating (center seats are separated)
+ acceptable FC for urban drives (MPV)

D down side
- 1.5 can b a bit underpowered at highways/hilly roads but in urban use its adequate
- rear door is quite large (long), n might encounter instances when u wont b able to open it if u reverse it too close to s'thing
- its not really 'luxury' as efaceninja said. Think City/Jazz with a longer & higher chassis but same levels of built quality (very much like GL and Alza class)
- fold-n-hang last row seats. Yes they free up more space than typical fold-flat, but not every1 will appreciate its way of execution

LIvina looks big outside only, inside is super cramp. My sister owns one.
Buy Alza also better. Both the reat seats are useless and only can sit dwarfa, midgets and hobbits.

Exora is a better choice.
I hesitated towards getting a Proton before.
But so far no regrets even though the FC is slightly higher than livina

I disagree.

The Freed has a low floor, and sliding doors, which means it is PERFECT for elderly people. It makes entry for them a lot easier, even when parking in a tighter spot. It's the perfect choice.

yes turbo full spec. Surprisingly comfortable for long journey.
3rd row is not as cramped as livina obviously.
Go test drive it, u'll find the handling is good.

Or increase your budget to 100k and get a recond wish

Ya ya, you can access the 3rd row without bending the seats of 2nd row. Like exora or livina you need to bend everytime. And the sliding door is perfect for elder ppl, very easy to get in and out. Normally this type of features only available on serena or previa, which is starting at least at 150k and above? Freed can get under 100k for the lower end model.

I'm not too familiar with kangoo.. i know its sliding door and flat floor also, but at the rear got seats ah??

Optionally, yes. Basically they drilled 4 holes in the floor, and added a bench. Has the advantage of a great, comfortable seating position (except for the legroom I'd say as good as the 2nd row, and you've got a great view! Feels like you're a king on a throne or something), disadvantage of eating up quite a bit of space when not in use. Can be removed, but reattaching it is basically a job for the workshop, because one of the nuts (that won't stick to the car when there's no seat) is between car and exhaust pipe. You can also walk into the car from the rear, because the bench isn't as wide as the whole car... you can fit luggage next to the 2 seat bench.

Yeah, i'll buy to bring my parent to their hometown, around 5hours travel, so comfortness for elderly will be main point

Own 1, Grey Color (1st Batch)

FC - Not too bad, survive around 280-300 for RM 50 (depending your driving style, I am light footer)

Can fit 7 pax, but third row leg room is bad and also on hot day third row hardly feel the air-cond (single blower only). Went to Genting few time, 7pax still can go up but u will feel the lack of power (but I don't care much, seldom go up hill just for in town driving)

Car Maintenance (I only service at Honda, can go see see new car at Honda and other showroom nearby while waiting)
Minor service =180 - 220
Major service = 400 - 800 (depending what you change)
Battery = 180 - 250 (depending brands, I use Bosch S3)
Tyres = 200 - 300 (depending brands, I use Toyo)

*service I would say normal lah for Jap car, actually quite cheap if u compare with other brand or kor car and conti car

Recommendation - Get the power sliding door version

Major Downside
1. Only come with 2 airbags (if you concern about air bags, korea cars now offer 6 air bag)
2. Boring Car steeing (no buttons, ntg at all)

I have looked at Honda Malaysia website today and did not see Freed among the models available. Is it not sold in Malaysia anymore?? Any Honda salesman can confirm? I will need to look for alternatives if that's the case!
