During my teens? Nothing but weights and pushups. When I was younger I had a slight build and everyone kept telling me I was "weak" and should not exert myself. So I thought screw all that I'm going to do the opposite and bulk myself up.

Ten years on the results have stayed and I maintain a fairly lean figure (daily pushups and dumbbells). Only in recent years did I pick up actual outdoor activities. It's not much... I jog 5km once per week (non-stop) and once in a month or so I swim. Every morning (except Sundays) I will do 30-40 pushups.

Too bad KL sucks in terms of good publicly accessible swimming pools, or else I'd swim more often (few times a week). By "good" pools I mean those that allow you 25-50 metres of lap swims with a deep end (at least 2 metres) because I like diving also.

I can tell many fitness buffs out there will be laughing at this. My (eventual) goal would be to be able to do 10km non-stop jogs and 20 non-stop swim laps. And do them at least 3 times per week. But right now it's all a daydream.

Health benefits? Hard to say, perhaps it's harder for me to catch colds these days. I was slightly asthmatic during my primary school days but now I rarely ever cough. Stamina has increased a bit, but not much since I'm not exercising regularly enough.

I like swimming, but no good private pool around klang valley...
Like badminton too but no kaki, and can't constantly keep playing after start working, since have to stay late sometime :-(
End up jogging is the only choice, and often target to run 30 mins non stop, mana tau 10 mins oledi give up :-(
So, end up still as fat as ever :-(

Chinwoo pool in KL is olympic sized, if i'm not wrong. Comes with 15 feet deep end. Diving discontinued though. Kelab Syabas in PJ State also has a pretty deep pool

Chinwoo is impressive... the deep end was fun to dive in... but the location sucks with all the traffic.

I've tried some clubs here and there... Bukit Jalil one is okay but not deep... Sg Long has a very impressive olympic sized (?) one with fairly deep end... but all these must know somebody there first only can enter unless got $$$ to pay membership fees.

My ideal place would be an indoors pool. Heard there's one in California Fitness Mid Valley... any idea how deep/large it is?

Indoor pools....haven't heard of any with decent depth. Lots at public pools and condos, all around the 8ft mark max. Chinwoo is pretty accessible, either take lrt to pasar seni, or monorail, which station i forgot. Yeah, driving there does suck.
