Hi all Sifu notworthy.gif

Need some advice on the Kawasaki Z800.

Been thinking to upgrade my bike to higher CC so it came i have 2 options

1 - Kawasaki ER6f
2 - Kawasaki Z800

Currently im using Kawasaki 250R

Been research that Kawasaki 250R and Kawasaki ER6f Maintenance and Parts price are almost same and wont go far.

Okay here are the main point hope all sifu can advice me to pick which bike.

1 - It is for daily use, travel distance are around 50 Km per day

2 - Dose Kawasaki Z800 easy to Maintain?

3 - Any important issue about Z800?

4 - Er6f and Z800 which one are suitable for daily use?

Thanks
Cheers

er6..more towards touring bike...z800...naked bike...

ride position almost the same...straight...but er6 have wider and higher handle bar...easier to navigate thru city...

1 - It is made for daily use, and some weekend rides

2 - easy to maintain. tyres run out around 10k km. approximately 1.3-1.5k for spot tires.

3 - No issues, unless ur hooligan rider. tyres, chains and brakes, are essential. these could save ur life.

4 - Both are reliable. er6 slightly cheaper to maintain

If u plan use for ulang alik kerja, better buy er6..

1. Z800 fc is just like kancil. I ride 70km per day n everyday i hv to pump rm10.

2. Quite heavy bike.. but lama2 u akan biasa.

3. Maintenance for 4 inline bike for sure more expensive.

no reason to take z800 unless u want 'superbike' like sound(4inline sound)

er6 is 2 inline,is light,very economical,

z800 doesnt need special attention but need 3.5l of engine oil while er6 only 2

no issue so far

for daily use er6 is definitely better

Regarding the distance covered, 650 cc bike is more than enough. How about second hand xj6?

Xj6 also 4inline. The 2inline engine is definitely good choice if u travel for a short distance and town ride.. u will find high torque is a need when ride in town..

Thats why most of the dual purpose bike using 2 piston(except versys 1000). Need more torque n doest really need high hp..

Thanks all Sifu for the advice

I also been check on the price for normal service on those Bike i get shock when i heard those price

1 - ER6 Rm 250 - 350 Include (EO,Air Filter,Oil Filter and Plug)

2 - Z800 Rm 500 - 600 Include (EO,Air Filter,Oil Filter and Plug)

So i already make up mind will stick on ER6f since i going to use it daily to work. The price with my current 250R the parts and service really not that far i still can manage.

If for Z800 i use it daily i think it will kill my wallet coz i will service my bike every 3 months when reach 4000KM. Service + Installment really can kill me.

Thanks all but i hope still got more advice from all Sifu-Sifu

currently i'm driving er6f. if you want daily use and never run too fast. er6 is really a good choice. cos only have 2 valve. the top you can go is 210kmph. if you go z800 you can easily up to 280++.
er6 fuel consumption also very good. if drive about 90-120, 3L/100km
drive so far no problem. so maintenance cost just about services.
i drive from klang to subang everyday through kesas also about 60km/day.

Z1000 is a naked street bike while ZX-10R is a super sports category bike.

TS already made his mind.. ER6n .. good choice but @ least keep the bike for 3 years or tenure of your loan period (in case buying through leasing)..

Since the 2nd hand price almost half after 1 year of usage..

Z800 is for feel good factor only, maintenance is like a car price (even more) and damn heavy sien.. (High tensile Iron frame)...

Make sure if you purchase the ER6, it has gone through Kawasaki Health Check (Valve). Many members screwed up their engine before even the Kawasaki Health Check because of the low quality valve used in ER6 model.

I have been ridding the ER6 for few months before changing to Z800.

Actually it depends, if your going to get the bike for long term then go for Z800. But if you want something small and want to upgrade in 1-2 years time then get the ER6 first.

The power deliver in ER6 is more than enough actually but if you prefer a 4 inline sound plus rough look of the bike, go for Z800. flex.gif

Just went in for service. Changed my oil to IPONE Fully Synthetic (3 + 1/2 bottle), K&N Oil Filter & K&N Air Filter. The engine was way smoother and better. rclxms.gif

Good luck in getting your bike thumbup.gif

Thanks smile.gif

ER short for easy rider so if you like speed and play red RPM with nice sound just go for z8. if you use more to work with cheap maintanance and sometime bring your wife/gf to convoi better take er6, kesian dia sakit bontot nanti naik z8, it's just my exp with my wife.
