I just started gym 4 days ago and the gym instructor asked me to start my training with gym equipment such as chest press, arm curl etc.
So I started with weight around 30-40 lbs for all equipments. But I wanted to increase the weight but I can't handle weight more than 40 lbs. Whenever I asked people around me about my problem I get answers like " Are u kidding me? 40 lbs above also can't do?"
So I need advices on how to increase my strength. Thx and sorry for the bad English.

Patient and consistency will brings you result. This post has been edited by Amedion: Jul 17 2014, 04:00 PM

Immaterial, if its kg or pounds, you are already doing well as to start with a program. Ignore the nay sayers, and continue with your program. Soon you would see progress. all the best!

And don't fool yourself. Your magical hammer may look heavy but it's magic. Lift a real hammer to gauge your real strength.
