Try installing mi home from Google play. It will give you the feel without flashing the full rom.

After reading it, I kinda feel overwhelmed. No wonder you took your time to release the guide. It covers practically every aspect of flashing the phone.

Didn't know that upgrading to KK needs so much preparations. I'm going to read over and over again then decide whether to flash or not....so to flash freely without worrying about boot-looping, it is recommended to unlock the bootloader right?

Which method did you use? The one with unlock or lock boot loader?

If we unlock the boot loader if there's new versions of KK we just need to update via the local update method by downloading the package or can get the IT'S updates?

Guys, I was about to do a ROM backup using the Flashtool, removed the battery and now when I tried to plug in my cable to the phone side, can't seem to push it in. Anyone faced this before?

I think I have to send my phone to the service center due to the faulty usb port. In all my experience using phones with micro-USB, this is the first time I'm encountering this issue. Don't know how long will it take to fix.
