In term of gameplay PES 2014 wasn't a failure, it was very playable and decent after string of patches. However outside of the gameplay it got to be the most bland and boring PES ever.
Don't know why they listened to the doom preachers and grumpy old mans from WENB too much. Stuff like total removal of cutscenes and bare bone Master League, intentional catch-up bug were the results of feedback from mainly from WENB regulars. Honestly if KONAMI are serious about fans' feedback, WENB is no longer relevant. They should listen to Evo-Web, PESFAN, several other modding forum and even ours LYN community for real, level-headed feedbacks. Hopefully for PES 2015 they're going to build a game that will make them proud first and foremost, just like the old days. Everything else is secondary. |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Jul 13 2014, 08:53 PM) In term of gameplay PES 2014 wasn't a failure, it was very playable and decent after string of patches. However outside of the gameplay it got to be the most bland and boring PES ever. For me it was a failure because their follow-up to the release was very very poor. Online had issues from the get go(I pre-ordered the game) and the roster updates and gameplay fixes took way too long. As you mentioned, I gave it a go after a few patches, although they did sort out the control bugs and various other issues, it didn't seem like they were dealt as urgently as they should've, and the same issues with goalkeepers and stuff like the catch-up bug still exists to this day. For the first two-three months I had the game, I didn't touch it at all because of the issues I had with the buggy manual controls. No doubt there is still a bit of the PES magic deep inside the game, but the apparent thing was that the game wasn't released in a good state. FIFA14 on the other hand, although still pretty much the same old same old, was a whole lot more fun because you had options in abundance in game modes, the online is mature and it was more playable than PES2014 was. remove the manual through ball and manual shot targeting. Bring back the PES 2013 shooting and through pass style. Improve on graphics. Then PES 2015 is gud to go.

MARIO GÖTZE STAR OF PES 2015 PACK SHOT, AS KONAMI CONFIRMS NOVEMBER 13TH RELEASE DATE AND DEMO TIMINGS
![]() QUOTE Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has announced that Mario Götze is to be lead pack star of PES 2015, with the publisher also confirming that the new football title will be released across Europe all formats on November 13th. KONAMI has previously announced a focus around on-field gameplay, with PES 2015 centered on the mantra of ‘the pitch is ours’. This mantra sees the game faithfully recreating the heart-in-mouth tension of top-flight football through all-new control elements, including the most authentic close control system ever, new shooting routines, realistic player and team AI that mimics that of the game’s real life counterparts, and enhanced goalkeepers. Thus, after much consideration, KONAMI feels that Mario Götze is the player that truly epitomizes the pace, skill and moments of incredible brilliance that elevate modern football. Götze heads up PES 2015 on the back of his most successful season to date. The skillful midfielders saw his club side, Bayern Munich, win the German league at a canter. Just 23 years-old, Götze is already a lynchpin for his club and national side, and has been described as “one of the best talents Germany has ever had.” Thus, with his eye for a pass, intelligent runs, and goal-scoring abilities, the all-round play of the midfielder is the perfect fit with KONAMI’s new focus. Mario Götze will front the pack shot for PES 2015 and all marketing materials. By looking at key facets of modern football, the PES Productions Team has completely reworked how the game performs key sections. The shooting and goal-keeping mechanics benefit from a new system that allows precise aim and control over a shot’s power and also unlimited shot styles. Similarly, the ‘ keepers intuitively close angles and are capable of an amazing number of ways to react to any situation. Passing and the final ball to the front line has also been expanded, allowing for little knock-ons and powerful daisy-cutter passes that use new physics routines to ensure the ball realistically behaves as it would. Close control also steps up a gear, with the player governing both the positioning of a player, but with greater options of how to dribble into space or beat your marker. The announcement also comes as KONAMI confirms that the game will be released globally for PlayStation®4, XboxOne, PlayStation®3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC on November 13th. This marks the first appearance of the seminal series on the new wave of console hardware. A free demo will also be available on September 17th across PlayStation®4, XboxOne, PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360, where users will be able download and experience the most accurate, satisfying and enjoyable football game to date. |

No Current-Gen/Next-gen for PC.
The game will be supposedly a hybrid version with the same gameplay but inferior to the animations and physics engine used on the PS4/XboxOne versions. Disappointed. |

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Aug 18 2014, 09:24 PM) One thing PES does have nailed on is the player models, and when they're up for it, they can nail down the faces as well. From PES2014, I just found the quantity lacking. After the update they added more faces, but the generic ones that stayed were hideous. On another note, here's some interesting updates about PES2015 and it's Community Manager. http://www.dsogaming.com/news/pes-2015-pc-...gantly-to-fans/ This post has been edited by Zakov: Aug 19 2014, 08:26 PM |

I've accepted the future is bleak for PC user because of the very low market share (2%), almost render it irrelevant. Although I have to admit the bad news comes too soon.

Well if you want the best PES experience you should get one of the next-gen consoles, but yeah, the ability to mod (which what PES needs to compete with FIFA) will be sorely missed.

'FIFA Is More Like Ping Pong' - PES Devs Smack-Talk FIFA 15
http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2533930/fifa_...lk_fifa_15.html QUOTE Adam Barnes PES 2015 better be able to back up these claims, otherwise it could look rather silly. Published on Aug 28, 2014 There's always been a rivalry between FIFA and PES, but in this increasingly PR-driven industry that's taken something of a backseat. So it's great to see these PES 2015 developers take on FIFA 15; hopefully EA Sports will feel the need to retaliate and we can have a classic PR war like the good old days. "Personally, I think we're far better when it comes to shooting and goalkeepers," said Adam Bhatti, PES European brand manager when asked about what PES 2015 offers over FIFA 15. "Our gameplay is going to be more realistic." Klaus Garner, assistant producer on PES 2015, added: "We have a game that lets you play real football; you can play counter-attacking, possession, long-ball... which you can't do in the other title, where it's more like ping-pong." Bhatti then said that "FIFA is all about scoring goals, they want to get you to that moment. "That's not a bad thing, a lot of people just want to be able to score goals and have their lobbed-through ball work every time." Bhatti admitted that PES has "made a mistake" in the past by trying to stand out as the "connoisseur's football game". "We still are that," he added, "I think we've proved that with our understanding of the sport in this presentation. At the same time as being the connoisseur's game we don't want to end up excluding people. "In real-life Schweinsteiger with the ball in midfield wants to hit a ball to Klose, and in that case the other team's midfield will block out the passing lanes and the defence will push out. "That makes it really hard to make that pass to him, very rarely will a lobbed through ball work - but that's exactly what you can in FIFA." Bhatti then added that they want to be "different", and to allow you to "play how football is played in real-life". Finally Bhatti said: "The problem we've had is that that method is difficult and frustrating, so our challenge is to make the idea of playing real football a fun experience." So come on EA, you're not going to stand for that, right? |

QUOTE(king_eric @ Aug 30 2014, 10:37 AM) 'FIFA Is More Like Ping Pong' - PES Devs Smack-Talk FIFA 15 I know the guy is supposed to be Community manager or a marketing position of some sort, but he shouldn't talk smack about FIFA. I can say that PES has had it's ping pong moments in almost every iteration. You don't have to praise your competitors but it's better to just focus on your game's own strengths rather than harp about what FIFA is doing.http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2533930/fifa_...lk_fifa_15.html |

UGH! Such a disappointment! The steam descriptions and the screenshots doesn't represent the actual game. Don't be deceived! The game only looks like that during replay mode, not during the actual game or highlights.
PES 2015 for PC doesn't use the FOX engine as advertised, it's still using the old engine (upgraded PS3, xbox360 engine) from years ago. The graphics look horrible, there's no depth of field, blurry textures for the field grasses, poor LOD. Worse of all, there's no opening cut scenes for every match, not even UEFA ones. The game can't be purchased from Steam store if you're in Malaysia as of today, seems like those that got it yesterday were lucky enough to purchase it. Seems like it has been region locked. I have no idea what this means for those that have already bought it via Steam. |

This is the best PES ever. The graphics aren't pretty and detailed like the current gen console counterpart, but the rest including the most important aspect; the gameplay remains the same. But shame about the omission of the pre-match cutscenes. Finger crossed it can be patch-in someday, if PES Production sees the light.

Don't be deceived! The game only looks like that during replay mode, not during the actual game or highlights. Since PES2014, every platform have been updated to use FOX engine, including PC version. However, 2015's PC version engine is based on PS3/Xbox360 version rather than PS4/Xbox One.PES 2015 for PC doesn't use the FOX engine as advertised, it's still using the old engine (upgraded PS3, xbox360 engine) from years ago. I have no idea what this means for those that have already bought it via Steam. There's definitely improvement on graphics. Players face, movement, and stadium environment does look better than in PES2015. Regarding the blurry texture and bad LOD, if you dive into the replay feature, then you will see all the details is definitely above what FIFA15 (PS4/Xbox One) offers. So I suspect it's limited by the game engine, it just wasn't powerful enough to render all fast enough at game speed. Yes, the cut scene is a sore one. I'm not holding my breath that Konami will release a patch for this, Adam Bahtti is pretty unapologetic on this matter, and they feel that the typical tournament intro scene is good enough. My steam copy is still working as of this this early morning. QUOTE(GilaLaksa @ Nov 15 2014, 02:07 PM) I'm speculating that it's a steam mistake that it's not region locked at the first place. Only Konami-endrosed , UK/EU based website offer such discounted price. All other store are selling for around ~ USD 40. Plus PC version is not officially supported in south east asia. Xbox & PS only.QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Nov 16 2014, 09:08 PM) This is the best PES ever. Hi guys, found that i can't buy it on steam but i don't mind ordering a retail copy so whatever.
But is it true that we can't get a smooth online play if we play PC version in Malaysia? If yes then i shall pass and play pirated. The only reason i am getting original is because i want online play. |

QUOTE(gengka @ Nov 19 2014, 11:42 AM) Hi guys, found that i can't buy it on steam but i don't mind ordering a retail copy so whatever. On Streamyx 4MBps, there was no UI lag but there's some control lag by roughly half a second. I couldn't connect to online play while on Unifi network. So I can't really deduced whether it's internet connection issue or is it the remote location of the server (EU/UK) is causing the issue. But is it true that we can't get a smooth online play if we play PC version in Malaysia? If yes then i shall pass and play pirated. The only reason i am getting original is because i want online play. But after a while ur brain and hand will auto-compensate for the lag. |

QUOTE(imran424 @ Nov 21 2014, 09:39 AM) Ya i think so too. As much i like PES gameplay over FIFA but to me PES is just not playable without those full patch and PESEDIT make the best patch. Not to blame KONAMI or something as EA pretty much monopoly most license. But the new PES engine they use for 2014 and 2015 just seem disappointing. I have skip PES2014 ask i feel player are gliding on the pitch like skating rather than PES2013 that feel more weight. Plan to try PES2015 but without PESEDIT, guess i will just skip too. |

Even i am a PES fan but i have to admit that PES online play/network is way behind FIFA. Those looking for online play should just go for FIFA.But after a while ur brain and hand will auto-compensate for the lag. |

Have any of you guys played friendlies/exhibition matches with people from the same country/region? If yes, how is it in terms of the overall online experience?

Hey guys. Just wanted to check on system requirement.
My current setup is: AMD A64 X2 5200+, 2GB DDR2 & GeForce 7600GT. I am planning to get a used 9800GT or something slightly better. Do u think i'll be able to run PES2015 (or PES2014) smoothly under MEDIUM setting? Thanks. |

Seriously, im not sure whats the buzz around with people complaining much bout this game.
Yes, it does have it's downfall especially for PCs (damn it Konami!) but hey, if you're playing this series since back then, you'll surely agree that PES is all about its gameplay. Well, with that being said, here's some of my opinion regarding this game. Oh, and no i don't play online as the crappy internut i have down here, a hardcore ML fan I'd admit. Pros: - Superb gameplay, AI doesn't 'cheat' anymore with their unlogical powers & sudden lost of pace (u surely know what i mean - Passing are more realistic than ever - Through passes are fixed from previous series where the AI think it knows better than us, therefore through passes are really useful this time around - Players & ball's physics are awesome, so much realistic and no more 'gameish' turn around or 1st touch - AI are definately better, players positioning are much improved - Players stamina are really noticeable where subbed in players are much more agile than players who've start the game, therefore it's useful when you're chasing a game - Goalies are more clever in making saves & positioning - Games are much harder, noticeable in ML (yes, im bored of winning each game from last series) Cons: - Ofcourse, the cut scenes....but heck, i could live with that no problem - Shooting are sometimes looks beyond logic with the pace of the ball (seedorf's shooting i call it - passing direction are locked even with assist, which means it wont allow u to make a change of direction hence losing out the ball to either opposition or out of play (super cancel? nope, i prefer the AI to do it's job) Overall, i'd gladly admit im hooked into this game for another long year even w/o the famous PESEdit patch (well, there's plenty others to come for sure). Gameplay: 9/10 Overall game: 7/10 |

QUOTE(wyyam @ Jan 6 2015, 06:27 PM) I usually go with 4-1-2-2-1 with possesion game1 holding defensive midfielder 2 center midfielders 2 attacking midfielders 1 center forward Defensively, 4-3-2-1 3 defensive midfield is usefull while defending haha ## The best trick is not to try tackling / pressure much while defending as the chances of those godlike dribbling would just leave u behind....just try to follow the attacking player as close as possible to close the gaps & only make a tackle when ure sure ure gonna get the ball, eventually they'll just make stupid mistakes/passes & possesion goes back to u |
