QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Aug 21 2014, 01:47 PM) It's already widely known, but many, while not legally obligated to follow, would worry about the warranty dispute should you go against the car manufacturer's 'recommendation'. Even widely known but still lots of owner here advise goes for every 5k for semi EO since it just an optional recommended by manufacturer.. Had double checked with SA, semi EO for last longer 10k is acceptable n not void any warranty. Anyhow I still choose to listen sifus here to change it after 5k for those semi EO since there are no firm answer for myself n I dare not taking risk at the moment. |

QUOTE(vikneswaranc_17 @ Aug 22 2014, 12:20 PM) This how any turbo works. Even at the moment you start the car, it will be already spooling (spinning the turbine without providing any boost to the engine).. On our Preve, the turbo will provide boost from 2k rpm to 4k rpm (at 205nm flat due to our CVT gearbox).. after 4k rpm, turbo will still be running but torque will be reduced.. this boost can be altered by tuning but not recommended for our car due to the gearbox again.. In other cars, such as EVO (manual gearbox) turbo lag can be felt before the boost.. The engine performs only on certain boost or rpm.. For an example, in gear 5 at 50km/h, if pedal pressed down fully on an EVO, the car would not want to move forward.. it will feel sluggish, hence the need to change to a lower gear is needed.. but this is not applicable for a NA (naturally aspirated / without turbo) cars.. the same situation, the car will still move forward.. In some other cars, like previous gen Golf GTi, they used both supercharger and turbo as supercharger will provide the initial pickup force (torque) at lower rpm and the turbo at higher rpm.. in laymen term, Torque is important to provide the car the initial pickup and horsepower for the car to retain the speed or even pushing it to the top speed.. My two cent comment.. Sifu's can correct it. |

QUOTE(terryble @ Aug 26 2014, 02:24 PM) The "key" u put into the slot is actually a transponder only(like your office door access card), once your car had confirmed the code in the transponder, the engine can start even if you have pull it out...thats why even if ur remote run out of battery completely it will still function as it does not require battery (again just like your door access card)...but u do need to open the door manually with the key~~ Thx Terryble. Sorry I'm poor in disgusting your inputs here. If you dun mind pls educate me again as the person share this video is saying without slot in his key/remote it can b just start the engine as usual. My doubt here what if I forgot to lock my car and someone just walk in n start the engine then drive away. Thx again in short....the "key" is an anti theft measure that prevent unauthorized person from starting your engine and steal ur car....although Proton make it a bit stupid** ..but...Preve Premium is genuinely a "keyless entry" vehicle where no physical key is require... **other car makers may just detect the transponder when it is nearby and u can open the door and start engine with the transponder in your pocket and do NOT even need to take it out~~just wondering if it is radioactive THE CAR MANUAL CLEARLY DESCRIBE THE ABOVE...PLEASE READ THAT PROPERLY...THERE ARE A LOT OF "HIDDEN" FEATURES LIKE THIS THAT U MAY NOT KNOW |

QUOTE(Yoooo @ Sep 2 2014, 10:36 PM) True as well lah... Haha.... Yes and the only way to avoid it - child lock. btw, my friend told me that this Preve's doors (included passenger's side) can be opened by 2 times of the handle even the all doors have been locked previously. Is it true? sounds like dangerous if fetching children at the back... |

QUOTE(theonlyvin @ Sep 19 2014, 01:55 PM) For Syn3000, allowable service intervals is 10k. Actually syn 800 can tahan 10k too, from COSE....but saw many forumers said not recommended.... QUOTE(vostro78 @ Sep 20 2014, 10:28 AM) oh 1k straight to 10k? u uare using syn1000 or ? mayb i am using syn800 so need go at 6k service. i top up Rm32 yesterday for the EO upgrade. QUOTE(plumberly @ Sep 20 2014, 10:39 AM) For the service interval, look up your Service Booklet. Follow that one as not to void the warranty. Check with your SC on S 800 at 10,000 km interval service. I will be going for my next service at 11,000 km (now with S1000). QUOTE(vostro78 @ Sep 20 2014, 10:40 AM) Sifus, Just share mine condition. I do come to your condition a well previously after my first 1k service, dilemma about the interval thingy and some of sifu's comment to go for 6k if u r using syn800. I did call back few times to different SA and SC as well and come to my own conclusion is if you are driving just a short distance from point A to point B everyday, it will not worry u much (in my first 1k service, the SA did asked me this question some sort like "how you use your car daily"). My answer to him is a normal driving style +occasionally traffic jam with around 50km distance daily. At the end of session I got syn 800 with next service 10k. Y? The comment just given as syn 800 is proven to be good enough up to this milage, unless u dun mind to spend more money on this then just go ahead. Yeah, somehow their thought make sense to me |

2. Warranty Issue:
Rest assured that all new Proton Preve comes with 5 years warranty. Manual book printed 3 years but another certification will be sent to your address which comes with extended 2 years warranty. If not, call the proton i care and fucuk them nothing to do tis morning and i just called up i-care about the above matter shared in the front page of this tread. i got the feedback from them all new proton preve comes with 3 years warranty by manufacturer and additional 2 years warranty by proton edar. No any certificate will be sent to owner. but i still not clear what is the different between manufacturer and proton edar... dun they are from same company?? |

with recent price reduction of Ron97 to RM2.55 versus Ron95 at price RM2.30, the differences of 25cent between both drove me to get Ron97 instead. Say 40L refilled each time, and you only save RM10 but if you agree what "expert" been quoted the Ron97 give more "POWER" and "Engine Care" then nothing lose from here... i just wish i'm interpreted correctly what expert's advice :-)
