KOTA BHARU 8 Julai - Seorang pelajar tingkatan lima hancur tangan kanannya selepas mercun bola yang dinyalakan meletup sebelum sempat dia membalingnya di Kampung Berangan Apam, Pasir Mas, Sabtu lalu.

Dalam kejadian pukul 8.35 malam itu, kelima-lima jari, Abu Bakar Nasir, 17, terputus manakala tapak tangannya turut hancur.

Abu Bakar berkata, kejadian berlaku ketika dia dalam perjalanan untuk menunaikan solat tarawih di masjid berhampiran yang terletak kira-kira dua kilometer dari rumahnya.

Katanya, dia bersama rakan-rakannya telah menjumpai satu biji mercun bola di tepi jalan sebelum dia bertindak menyalakan mercun itu. - UTUSAN ONLINE

Back then when I was a kid, lots of my kampungmen played mercun like no tomorrow. They even got meriam besi at that time and I played together with them. Nothing happened. Unlike kids nowadays.

Moral of the story: don't hold the mercun if your hand is not fast enough to throw the mercun right after you lit it.
