Hi, Can you recommend me your contractor for the reno?

I'm currently looking for a RELIABLE contractor. Some respond but disappeared after a while. Luckily didn't officially book him.

Haven't been updating for a bit.
Here's once of the last bit of my house, which is the wardrobe.

I've again engaged Homemark as their customer service to me is really one of the best and based on a very reasonable pricing as well.

I only have a very small space hence that's what I could make do with.
Here's the design

Fully frosted glass divided into 3 piece and the compartments.

Cost RM 2,800 with anti roaches board

Finished product shall come in 3 weeks time smile.gif

Quick question, you didn't state explicitly but I assume the Quartz top is purchased from Homemark and installed by them as well? And the price of RM180/psf is including installation?

We have decided to make the sofa set as well, finding the current one way too bulky and guest have no where to sit when to come to our place.

This will be a modular sets of pallet which will be in "U" shape and also to be move around into a bed or whichever desired..

Almost there and yet to be completed, will update the full set of sofa once they're done smile.gif

Pallets - FOC
Sofa upholstery foam - RM100 each (from Sect 17 the ramp up to the market, opposite petrol station on the right) - Extremely bad attitude and I think this price is pretty costly, just out of convenience. Took 2 weeks just to customise such an easy foam.  Doesn't return call at all and was very rude to customers. Avoid going there if possible.
Sofa covers - Taobao RM35 each
Back cushion - Ikea RM29.90
Cushion covers - RM18 each

wah princess, looks like you have quite the following here ya thumbup.gif

Great idea on the sofa set, was initially thinking of replacing my current sofa into a semi-japanese styled platform. Am most likely gonna infuse your idea into it.

Have you considered maybe adding in drawers underneath the space?

Oh, how did the lelong house's condition turned out to be? Many of them are due to the owners can't afford to pay the loan to the bank any longer. How did you verify and check?

Haha I am a stalker. whistling.gif I thick face go ask around about the owner and see what the damage. Yes he cant afford to pay his loan and also the family have been broken up. 1 father (staying where i bought) 1 mother(no idea stay where) 1 son(stay with girlfriend) 1 daughter(staying with grandma mother side) all not staying together.

I really did a detail checking with bank, management and DBKL to see if is worth buying. Even after everything, adding up it is still 50% below market value that is why i decided to go for it.

I also did check how the owner is like. For example if i buy that property will he come back and make life miserable for me. rclxub.gif He is the most hated person of the apartment shocking.gif . Was actually a deal breaker for me but I got "assurance" from lawyer and management that he wont be able to come back.

But end of the day he just uproot and left with all his belongings(computer, handphone ,dirty underwear shakehead.gif, etc ) in the house after a long court battle(with him not showing up but still staying there). Dont mention the field day of cleaning the house. I make contact with the wife and wife mother. I sent some important things(birth cert/divorce cert/etc) and requested item back to them with my own expenses and I also invited the son to come to take a look at the item that he wants back. The rest of the stuff either sold off or thrown/donate(using alam sekitar people and Apartment maid) did i mention the police that help me to break in the house took some stuff back without telling me hmm.gif The police took the computer, psp,tv(the crt kind) and some other small nig nags ohmy.gif .

anyway it took 4 long painful years from buying to renovation but now that is 99% finish renovation and only carpentry work is left icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif Im so happy.

I might consider opening a thread here whistling.gif

Woah... that's a whole long process. So glad that eveything is fine now.
That's the only thing with lelong house is that, the owner doesn't want to vacate the premise etc.

There is other things when I did my research that you need to look in to. Neighborhood crime rate/why they uproot/They owing gangster money? stuff like that but overall most of the time is cant repay loan.

My lawyer was not experience that is why it took so long. If you get a experience lawyer actually you can finish the process in half a year.

Yes! would definitely be interested particularly the process involved.

4 friggin years, the length you go to secure a property in this country. 50% below market value is definitely worth the wait I hope? Where is the area/location?
