This might be a bit of a dumb question...but I've just exchanged RM3060 for 100,000 yen and I was given ten 10000 notes. I asked the cashier if they can give me smaller notes and they say they don't have.
Now..should I exchanged them with smaller notes when I reach Tokyo? Maybe at 7 Eleven or something? I'm worried that if I use 10000 yen to pay a 500 yen meal they won't accept it because they don't have any change or something. Not sure if something like this happens in Tokyo but it does happen here. You walk into 7 Eleven to purchase a RM2 drink and give them RM10, the cashier will either tell you to go find some small change or go somewhere else and buy.

Just exchange by purchasing snacks at mini-mart, no harm.

That kind of surcharge is almost 2.5%...some local changers even taking 3%. All these are higher than credit card fees and without points or cashback. So try to divide your expenses accordingly.

you are welcome.

if you spend 4 or more days in kyoto, you can assign north, south, east and west for each day. that way, you spend less time travelling between tourist spot and spend more time eating delicious foods, sightseeing, taking pictures and eat more delicious foods.

another thing, kiyomizudera currently undergoing renovation. so the famous spot to take picture of the temple in evening... the picture from that spot will look kinda "cacated" due to the scaffholding beside the main building.
*
got any photo to share of the cacat thingy? biggrin.gif

HI, thanks for the update. Doesn't look good. I will try on monday and share the outcome.

As on buying the ticket in advance, i posted a link 1-2 pages back, there are 2 agencies in malaysia selling them. Or, you can purchase at the Disney stores.

when you make your payment using amex, is there any OTP or straight away purchase successful after clicking next?

Very blood sucking one. Not enough of taking income tax, this one also wanna tax! Okay, I will just remove all those tag and say i I brought from malaysia and then bring back tongue.gif

Not in KL for JTB. Not economical buying cash due to high local changer rate. Use cc can get some cash back also. Need to squeeze money whenever possible sad.gif Can cuci mata during the 2 hours queue for the rides sweat.gif

no OTP.. if u read the purchase by CC t&c other then amex. both visa and master requires OTP. so mine was straight transacted thn the sms frm the bank came and its in JPY. not USD...

maybe u find a fren who uses amex lo.. thn u pay him/her back in cash.... i rather buy online thn waste time queuing la.. IMO
*
yeah, thought so coz AMEX usually no OTP. I do have amex just worried if no OTP page then terus charge USD laugh.gif But since you confirm in YEN (damn, u really brave), then I got confident liao notworthy.gif
