anyone here experience charging up to 99% only and can't reach to 100%? I charged more than 4 hours from 20% and yet never reach 100% but when I first charge my device, it manage to touch 100% but subsequently the max was only 99% Anyway, my set is stock from head to toe. Never root or did anything to it.

charge around 80-90% enough already.. when battery around 20% can start charge..

It is normal. This happens in all smartphones.. They use a technique called trickled down charging.. It is to preserve battery longevity.

But isnt it better to charge the batt asap and dont let it drop lower than 50% or so?
becoz it will then be considered as 1 full cycle count when u charge.

Did u turn on the security when u start setup ur phone?
It will ask ur confirmation everytime apps want to access certain things.
I didnt know at 1st then its too annoying and didnt know how to turn off so just restore factory setting and setup again

I am not sure whether i turn on or off during setup...ahhh...

Yeap, you enabled the security on when you first setup your device. Two work arounds on this which is;

1) If you're being prompt the message again, you can select "remember my choice" and then click allow or deny.
2) Click on security app on your desktop > Permission > Manage app permissions > Apps on the tab > Click Whatsapp > Scroll down to contacts and select your option.

my gf can display it but she is not sure what she had done to make it like that

General setting -> battery -> battery indicator
However, percentage wont show during charging. Pretty stupid.

i thought we can see the percentage during charging before u unlock the screen? that 1 i can see

I have to agree that percentage is not shown on desktop while charging which is rather not practical. Anyway, there are two work around on it which is;

1) You can see the percentage when you wake up the screen aka the unlocking screen.
2) General settings > scroll all the way down and select about phone > Status > Battery level
