I have recently over the weekend, changed one of my car (iswara 1.5s manual) tyre + rim to 15".

Previously i am using 175/70R13 and now i am running on 195/50/R15 (Sime Astar 300 or something).

Initially i have a problem with the back tyre scraping the suspension and with the installation of a spacer, i kinda have the problem solved.

but now, everytime i press my brake pedal, i can hear some groaning sound and felt my brake pedal vibrating/giving some vibrating feedback. i try to listen and the sound is coming from the left (passenger side) of the car. but i cant pinpoint it to the rear or front wheel.

previously on my 13", there is no vibration feedback on the pedal unless under very very hard braking.

what could it be ?

is this technical talk?

check your brake assembly first. see if the spacer is placed properly. then check if you wheel is balanced an aligned properly. usually these two things can cause these 2 problems.

Few factors may occurs.....

Brakes sound / noise....
- Worn Brake Pads.. >>> Change new one
- Not good Brakes Pads... >>> Change to a better one
- Disc Rotor Dirty... >>> flush with lots of water when the brake is COLD

Brakes / Steering shakes
- Allignment Problem
- Balancing Problem
- Rims "Bengkok"
- Tyre "Bengkak"

who say rear drum brakes got no carbon (brake dust), then where does the brake dust form the brake shoe go? ur brake shoe does not wear in after a period of time??

try to service the drum brakes, ususally they will open the hub and clean it up.... since they opening it, see that if ur brake shoe need repalcing.

also check ur brake fluid, does it need bleeding? how long ago was it last bled? is ur brake fluid contaninated with water?
if servicing ur rear drums dont solve ur problems, then i sugget u take a look at the fluid and flush it if needed...

if the sound only appear when the brake pad is hot, but no sound when it's cold like just driving for few km...then it's da brake pad problem...

it was happen to my wira...claimed warranty from the same shop few times still the same...at 1st still ok, after few week problem comes again...end up i get another mech to change it, problem solved.

alot of sub-standard brake pad in the market...so be wise choosing for brake pad..

just my 2 cents worth advice...

It has more to do with the width of the rim (and its design) than its radius.
