Q: Why such a dated SoC? The TI OMAP3630 is like four years old.
A: Great question - I’ll start by saying this had NOTHING to do with a dusty warehouse of old processors that we were compelled to buy because of our finance department. This was an engineering-driven decision, plain and simple. Our analysis on performance and battery life impact based on the early Android Wear requirements led to our decision.

Q: The metal band that was originally displayed with the Moto 360. Why has it been abandoned?
A: We’re excited to be working with new materials for Moto 360 bands, including metal. We go through many iterations on materials before deciding what will ultimately come to market. That being said, we still have a lot of heart for this early metal design.

Q: Do you think you will ever be able to make a fully round bezel-less display? What are the technical difficulties with that?
A: The difficulty is where to put the display driver. It's the chip that drives what goes on screen. We can have a fully round bezel-less display if the driver can be made much smaller (hiding it in the bezel) or if it sits under the display (which has never been achieved before)

Q: What are your opinions of th LG g-watch R with its fully round display?
A: We looked at fully round with the necessary thicker bezel (in order to cover the display driver) and compared that to a very thin bezel and slightly cropped round display. We strongly believed that our design with the beauty of our larger display, pixels to the edge, and thin bezel won the day. And the users we showed it to loved the watch and didn’t mention the crop so it was a done deal.

Q: Hello. Can you tell me what went into the decision to use processor that is in the Moto 360, and whether you believe that may limit it's life cycle for updates.
A: It won't prevent future updates

that kind of clasp is not comfortable to wear.

Promotional pictures always able to trick viewers but they never said back was steel etc.
Technically, wireless charging works even through metal, but significantly reduced efficiency. While kinetic watches able to charge wirelessly through metal plate, it has small battery and takes long time to charge. Moto 360 or phones etc use plastic back so charging efficiency was higher that it took short time to full charge the large battery.
