I just registered for the 2015 Lego Inside Tour. It's now only fingers crossed that I was fast enough. Refreshed the site at 1pm on the dot, but the registration link managed to show only at 1.05pm.

Registered myself at 1.08pm. I wonder if I was fast enough. 140 participants in 4 tour dates this time.

I think people are more interested on the free set. smile.gif

Btw, any guy here join LOM forum?

If you are talking about the Inside Tour Exclusive set, it's not really free per se. The tour costs EUR2000 for heaven's sake!

But yeah, the experience would be invaluable.

I'm also very interested in the manufacturing process, because I'm an engineer and I have interest in precision molding. Especially those baseplates. Do you know how hard it is to make a flat piece of plastic with such a flatness taking into account warpage and shrinkage etc? Now you know why baseplates cost so much.

Well, I'll know in a few days if I'm in.

Just wondering , why these Parkson sales are not same ?
Aren't they undr the same distributor ?  hmm.gif

Maybe Parkson puts up sales based on the discretion of the branch/floor manager? Maybe they have some guidelines on discounts based on inventory.

However, don't take my word on it.

Toys'r'us Germany is having a Star Wars weekend tomorrow. 20% off all Star Wars article.

E.g. 7965 only for EUR108.

Lego Store is only good for exclusive and hard to find items. Also if you collect VIP points.

Another tip is to look at toy stores or shopping malls in the region.

Non-exclusive products like what you want can be had for lower prices because stores are gearing up for the xmas toy season. I suggest you first look at LEGO official RRP, then go hunting. E.g. franchise malls, Galeria Kaufhof (I have loyalty card which gives 10% off everything) and Karstadt, or Toys'r'us or family toy stores. If not available then only go to Lego store.

There is nothing attractive at Lego stores this month except for double VIP points on Exo Suit.

Too bad you won't make it tomorrow. 20% off Star Wars articles from Toys'r'us is enticing. Furthermore, every EUR60 purchase entitles to a scratch card to win Disney trips and merchandise.

P.S. Some Toys'r'us do not accept credit cards.

I was at Cologne last weekend to visit the Lego Fanwelt 2014 exhibit. Coincidently, there was a Brick Friday VIP day and what better time to visit a Lego Store than that day. I wasn't fortunate enough to be invited to the exclusive shopping event, nevertheless, I got to Build a Minifig and burn up some VIP Points and do some Xmas shopping for myself.

The entrance to the shop. It was only 5.30pm and it was already dark, so lighting is not great. Fun fact #1: Cologne has the first ever physical Lego Store. Fun Fact #2: This store has actually moved from its previous location a few doors down. So this store is some sort of a piece of Lego history itself.

Along the walls, there were some creations by the store and fans being displayed. Lighting was bad on some because the display had faulty lights.

Hello all,

I've always loved Lego since young and with my daughter falling deep with Friends theme, I do think Lego has strong potential still after decades.

Would any of the enthusiasts advice on investing and opening a Lego store in a shopping mall in Klang Valley?  Would the profit margin enough to cover the store expenses?  What are the challenges and limitation that retailers are facing?

Thanks!
*
In my opinion, market is pretty saturated in Klang Valley.

You really need to be unique to stand out and most likely have to compete fiercely in prices.

Most likely in the near future, an official Lego store is inevitable. When that time comes, it'll be tougher for you to compete against the exclusives offered at the Lego store. However, it's not to say that you can't compete, as Lego store only has RRP. Also note that official stores have VIP points program which means a converted 5% off and sometimes double or triple points is available. In Germany (OK, not the best comparison), I tend to buy from official Lego store for their exclusives only, but always go to the nearby shopping mall or other online toy stores for bargains as they almost always have at least 10% off RRP.

From a consumer point of view, the more the merrier as we get more choices!

Millennium Falcon 7965 is sold out on LEGO S@H Europe.

In the USA, it's "Call to check for availability".

I was in Toys'r'us for Black Friday and they were having 20% off so the set was about EUR108. There should be stock still in the retail channels, but LEGO seems to have run out.

Not sure if they will produce more as the next Star Wars movie is out in a year. So, look out for a newer version soon.

Amazon Spain has 10211 Grand Emporium listed at EUR129. Although not available, but you can add to cart and hope for the best. Amazon doesn't charge your card until it ships and you can cancel without charge before it ships.

Worth a try if you are looking for this set. I'm not sure if it ships to Malaysia though.

I've put my order in, and let's see how it goes. Shipping to Germany was EUR10.

Edit: Here's the link http://www.amazon.es/LEGO-Creator-Grand-Em...ords=lego+10211

Members in LOM are able to get it shipped.

Less VAT it's even cheaper at EUR107. But shipping and handling is about EUR50.

hey guys, i have a question here, so i bought the parisian restaurant and i notice there are certain studs slightly different in color, take note that this are all from the NUMBER 1 plastic bags,is this normal? or im just unlucky?

I don't have the set, but those look like different colours to me.

Look through the instructions again maybe you can spot the difference.

I had an issue with the Ghostbusters set too with silver and transparent pieces.

You can also try looking online for the instruction booklet. Sometimes the colours are more noticeable on a computer screen.
