Hahaha, that's totally not true actually almost the new technology engine now a days is design to use Laser iridum Spark Plug as the manufacturer could maximize the combustion output to boost engine power and reduce fuel consumption. However some of the car owner wish to save money to downgrade their spark plug but we will not advise car owner to do so, as the original engine configuration setting by car manufacturer is require that performance of spark plug to support, once you downgrade it may cause the car lack of power, increase of fuel consumption and carbon build up due to not complete of fuel combustion.

According to NGK compatible chart your Honda Civic FD 2.0 (2010) which with K20Z engine is only able to use Laser Iridium Spark Plug (IZFR6K-11).
