haha damn that must totally suck for the couple.

but i suppose public proposals are not really cool unless you are 100% sure she will marry you. i've read a lot of horror stories of the girl being too embarassed that they broke up immediately after failed proposal.

not quite a wise choice unless your soon to be waifu is somekind of ppl which are wishing on a dreamland/romantic/fairy tale proposing method.

which might backfire if you are not 100% confident she will not reject.

Depends on your girl. Some like public fairy tale let's first take a selfie kind of proposal, while some prefer a quiet and private romantic getaway.

What if she says no? Public humiliation 101 plus it's not romantic. All girls want to be swept off their feet during their proposal.

1. invite all friends and relatives for the movie and proposal
2. purposely late for the movie with you girl and enter the show last
3. go toilet (actually preparing to go on stage)in the middle of the show/ after the show, screen your diy movie, and speak out your proposal at the end of the diy movie
4. lights up and all friends and relative cheerz on
5. balik rumah eat popcorn...after footing the bill...

Not worth the money lahh. Plus, there are many risks involved. Let me list down a few.

1. You might get boos and jeers from unsporting audiences for "hijacking" their movie.
2. If your girlfie is not those kind of gal who like surprises, she might get overwhelmed by the occasion and reject your proposal, leaving you more embarrassed than ever.
3. Unless you are half as handsome as David Beckham, showing your faceprob face on the big screen will invite laughter from the audiences, which will ultimately spoil the mood.
4. Cost of the whole project. Do I still need to say more? Better save it for a romantic dinner and do your proposal there. You can discuss with the restaurant manager/person-in-charge and see if they can arrange something special for you.

Don't do public proposals, seriously. No one's going to be impressed, you are celebrating a momentous day in your life with a bunch of strangers like me who don't really care and you are ruining other people's night out with this type of gesture.

Find out what sort of proposal your girlfriend wants, I did mine with a few of our closest friends and the next couple outright said she will not do something similar, so my friend smartly did his proposal in private.

The only one I remember looked nice was one that the person booked the entire cinema (maybe you can ask for the time where there is least amount of people going, so they are much more willing to rent out to you cheaper?), he played a own movie he made with puppets and then he proposed, when the lights went up, she noticed it was filled with their family and friends. That is also after he knew she will accept and had no issue with it just not too public.

I'll try to find the clip if I can and if you want..

As mentioned by fuzzy, nobody is going to be impressed cuz it is really none of their business. At the end of the day, you will just make a fool out of yourselves.

You can telecast your short film during the wedding dinner. Find a restaurant with a projector and make an announcement before you show the video. Do not serve any food during the video. Otherwise guests would be busy eating rather than watching.

Try those cinema that's not in popular mall, places where the cinema have low booking. You might get better price for privately booked room.

But before doing that, you must first check that your other half won't be embarassed by this public proposal.

Not everyone can take these kind of 'highlights'. So, must do homework first !

And better if you only get really close friends of both to join in the occassion.

another +1 for "don't do it bro" as the risks/failure rate vs success is too high.

If you can stomach (horrible horrible) failure, then go for it. Otherwise play safe.

Cause we were still too young, and there were tons of issues with the relationship, which just got even worse over the next 3 years from then. I'm just glad that it's all finally over and done with now.

Worst cast scenario is if she does rejects, your epic video (likely to be capture by some audience) will be on youtube for the world to see.

Not being a party pooper but really think this carefully.

Despite all the risks, if your gf is a person who likes attention, or don't mind being the centre of attention, she might like your way of proposal. Its crucial to know what your gf wants. People will tell you: "no don't do this", but it's your proposal, and she is your gf. If you are sure she will like it, go on. But like other forummers said, find out whether your gf is really ready for marriage.

Propose in public ONLY if it cost strangers nothing. if strangers have to be inconvinienced by the scene /crowd , then better think twice.

marriage is between 2 parties. A public proposal is not encouraged same like how the first kiss or first sex should not be done in public.

It very much depends on big or small hall you go for, there's no special discount or whatsoever, you want the hall, you buy all the ticket, thats how they do it.

I booked at TGV 1 u

I see. So even if the seats will remain empty, they still charge you normal adult price ticket for them, guess small hall is better then. Thank you for the info, ts smile.gif
