Hi I just gotten my 408 turbo white last month! Nice to meet you all here! I noticed some notable wind noise near the driver side door when cruising at 100km/h and above. May I know is it normal? Hope to get any sifus here to help rectify the issue. Thank you!

Let's check it when your 1st service, you can claim new rubber seal.

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Nov 14 2014, 04:42 PM)
There has been a few cases of engine failures at Camerons. One cause is a faulty fuel pump.

It could also be due to a faulty air quality sensor. Which may be your case. As you go higher, air density decreases. This tends to make the air/fuel mixture rich. Combustion is not sustainable beyond a certain ratio,ie too rich, and the engine will initially shake and eventually shut down.

The engine may start after a few cranks, as the rich mixture is blown away through the exhaust. But the engine will vibrate and misfire cos the existing air entering the cylinders at that height is low on density. ECU is not getting the correct air density feedback to make fuel adjustment.

Once you come back to lower ground, engine runs normally as it's getting the right air/fuel mixture due to correct air density. The failure messages disappear.

I had been drove to Cameron highland before but no problem at all when climb up. Overtaking very easier..Mine is 2.0 anyhow...kl <-> Cameron not need refill petrol... laugh.gif

Is there a way to open the fuel flap/cover when the release button is not working?

TQ smile.gif
*
Hi bro. there are only way to open is

one person press and hold the fuel button inside
while another person slot one hard card (unuse card) into the gap then turn upward.

After opened the fuel cap, put some grease / oil at the spring and hook then close /open several time until it can open when press once.

Seems like his 2.0 gave him so many problems

I was thinking the gear box replacement cost need to bear by owner are not reasonable if he service record was good, car only 2 years still under warranty. we dont really know the fact of the matters so we cannot comment too much..

Manage to open up the cover, but fail to pull out the bulb
*
To pull out the bulb, the safe way is

First, you get the masking tap (to prevent injury to hand if bulb sudden break) to wrap the bulb and then pull it downward, you should able take it out.

Nice one!
To open the rear cover, same method?
*
Yes, same method to open rear cabin light.
Do note that, the rear cabin light installed on top fabric panel so abit hard to open. Just be extra careful when open it

QUOTE(wongryan @ Jan 16 2015, 09:46 PM)
it has been a while since i visited the forum.
just dropping by to report after 1.5 years of owning the Lion

1. 2.0NA
2. Car = 1.5 years
3. Mileage = 20,082KM
4. Last Service = 30K KM service
5. SierraGlow coating
6. Yokohama battery, really "ngam ngam" 1 year died ... called the SC to come and replace with Delkor

Pros
1. Fuel economy improving after breaking 18,000 KM ... Recently changed to RON97, fuel economy gets even better, now at 12.5L/100KM. I am 80% city driving. Have tried a past 2 weeks, switching off aircond during my drive in the morning (to office) and evening (back home) .. the fuel consumption can get even better to about 11.8L/100KM

2. Still as enjoyable as the first day driving the car...solid, stable and reliable.

3. All who sat in the car before, enjoys the spaciousness

4. LOL ... all have the impression that this Lion, being continental is an expensive car, and its a class of its own as compared to others ( fuhh .. i feel classsssy )
Cons
1. Dashboard (passenger side) have sound whenever going through rough surface ... did complained to SC, but they say they need to take out the whole dashboard, and cannot guarantee they can resolve. Worst still, the sound may even get worst ... So I just leave it as it is ... normally, with the aircond blowing,  and with my radio on, it is barely noticeable.
Minor scratch, suspect motorcyclist hit it. The SierraGlow coating is like wearing off, I need a new coating. Anyone to intro, please PM me.

Hi bro.

You confirmed that the rattle sound are source from dashboard?
I have similar rattle noise as you, but I confirmed that it from door panel...
