I wonder why they used Syntium 800 on mine. That's what it says in my receipt and the total cost was only RM200.70, which was cheaper than expected.

I didn't feel any difference while driving though. In fact, after using a 15 year old pick up truck for a week, my car felt smooth and powerful. Lol.

Peugeot recommend 5w/40 for 2.0 liter engine.
In fact, Petronas syntium 3000 shall be used..

This kind of problem is it normal? I see our members seems to have quite a bit of issues with 408.
*
408 NA using hydraulic for steering system. It have noise when turning in certain angle due to pump. This is normal. Some car brand have also similar noise...

My case is difference than above...

2years + at this forum, 1st time reading this problem. What symptoms you had? Which SC are you?
*
When driving, I can heard the noise coming from front bottom especially during morning and rough road. When it was new car no issue. After used few month, this noise occurred. I tot it was caused by contact plastic and plastic on the steering so I tried to readjust steering position but problem still persist...recently this noise happened very often so I bring it to check when I does 30k service. I already recorded the noise using phone, later I upload to here...

New steering rack inside seal box. Technician took photo of my car number. SC free alignment for me but balancing i use own pocket money...

My lion still live strong, love it very much..LOL

Hi Sifu,
Can anyone  help ?

Yesterday when I start my engine, I turn on the key but before the engine start, I saw the words pop out  " Economy mood activated " what is this about ???
*
This is normal. If you turn the car key to initial without engine for certain time, system will cut-off the the power for energy saving to protect your battery.

For example, you listen to radio without start engine, economy mood will activated after certain time.

correct me if I'm wrong.

Recently just test drive a Peugeot 208....not bad in handling, very suitable for city drive. Nice dashboard and with touch screen make me slightly feel younger and remind me of 20++ young time....hahaha. The only let down is the gear speed is only 4 that giving a high engine noise when rolling at high speed due to high RPM.

Btw, recently just done my 40K service on Peugeot 408, total cost MYR882  doh.gif
Service charge + Aircon filter + Aircon service (recommended by SC)
*
My pug white almost clock 40k also, think to send to service soonest.
replace Aircon fitler is mandatory, is MUST.
Aircon service, depend on you.

Which sc you did 40k service ?

just wanna ask is anyone know where can install front sensor for 408 ?
*
if you think to install front sensor, you can purchase the parts from China. The parts consists of
1. one new Bosch controller (supports eight sensor)
2. four new sensor for front
3. cables
4. support/ bracket

You are require to change the existing sensor controller (Bosch). You can found existing controller located at rear boot (hidden inside the black insulator, left hand side). Existing controller in our car only support four input for four rear sensors. The new controller (Bosch) can support eight sensors ( 4s rear, 4s front)

You bring it to car accessories shop to install it. After that, you need go to service center to activate the new sensors.
After activated, when engage reverse gear, front sensors will start working (you able to see it in center screen\\

See the link (how to install front sensor for 408)

So basically i need to buy the parts ?
Or do you have any shop who that have the part ?
*
In Malaysia, you cant find the part if Im not mistaken. Or you can ask spare part shop (major Citroen/Peugeot part)
Alternative way, you buy aftermarket product that come with external screen itself.

For me, i prefer to integrate into existing system because i don't like put many stuff at the dashboard.

Ya that true wanted to integrate with existinh system since the original 408 have also the front sensor.
Saw on a 508 front sensor really nice since u know peugot abit long at the front with the help of the sensor would be great.
*
I've checked the price for full set for front radar, cost about RM700-800. Installation not inclusive, so worth it or not very depend on personnel.

Yesterday, I does the dismantle the front door panel, I found that our car can install welcome light because cable and socket already there, but no light. I've measured voltage, 24VDC. We just buy the light and install it. The light will on (received 24VDC) when we open car door and off (received 0VDC) after door closed. This, nice biggrin.gif

If anyone looking to change tyre & retain the Continental MC5 brand, suggest go to PJ if Klang is too far for KL people. The price is at RM410 (recently used to be RM380) instead of other shops which normally sell RM480 onwards. Probably because their Central branch is nearby at PJ.

Address: PJT Service Sdn Bhd, No.2, Ground Floor, Jalan PJS 5/2, Taman Desaria Off Jalan Klang Lama.

Consider cheap...
I just changed..RM420 (balancing, filled with gas nitrogen) in Hin Leong, Klang...

Nice bro. Leg light at the Front only? It always on during car running?
Mine have pre-cut for light but no light and cable.
Think to lay cable by myself.
