It is normal and it is a safety feature for most of the European car. It is used to force down shift or disable speed limit control during emergency. I personally haven't tried that.

I read an article said that we should maintain at least a 1/4 tank to prolong the fuel pump. The article said that the modern HPFP requires fuel to lubricate and cool the pump. I think it is quite true because some of our friends here suffer HPFP issue after low fuel. Not sure how about other sifu here thinking.

I think this is normal. According to the SA, the engine will keep in high RPM for a while even though you release the throttle. This is to ensure the driver can sprint for another time. If the RPM drop too fast and the driver require second sprint, the driver will easily feel the turbo lag. This turbo lag effect can be felt when you slow down at the junction and continue sprint. To cancel the high RPM effect, after you release the throttle, you slightly press the throttle then the engine speed will back normal.

In order to let the conventional turbo work, it has to maintain certain engine speed because the turbo spin base on exhaust gas. Whereas VW car got both mechanical turbo and conventional turbo, they use mechanical turbo at low speed to counter the conventional turbo lag issue.
