People have been complaining about the TI invite requirements since the first iteration of the tourney. Good intentions aside, even stable teams aren't immune from last-minute roster issues. Hopefully subs are allowed in the future (after all, they've even expanded team sizes in-client).

It's worth noting that Fear's injury is a lot less life-impacting than Era's psychological issues. Not being able to play DotA vs not being able to function in society is a massive difference.

Really agree with you, just like what happened to LGD last year (they ended up winning the qualifiers, so no biggie). I'd really like to see Valve implementing something like LoL's tourney system (the 3/5 system). basically when a team roster is fixed, only 3 of them MUST be present in the tournament, allowing maximum 2 people roster change.

After reading the press release statement from fnatic... Era's problem seems serious with vomiting and stuff after travelling... Hope he sits out of this eventhough its a 10mil tourney... Health you cant get back with money...

And valve is being unfair towards fnatic.. I think with a doctors letter, it should be enough for valve to consider this the same as EG Fear's case

manyak dislike this Erik Johnson. rules is made by human and it can be change under certain condition. seems like he place more value on $$ than player condition/health.
