I know but Skywrath was in the meta for a (slight) while and then died off and now again pushed back up so sudden. He's damn squishy and cant farm well out of lane as a support. Good babysitter?

i think skywrath is popular now since navi picked it last time
where other team seems to saw how good skywrath can be
low cooldown skill, mana pool also good.
overall a good burst hero in early & mid game

just my opinion..
skywrath's skill sets are basically the same now and last time. one of the most important reason why we see a sudden surge in skywrath pick is because of his ridiculous starting 325 move speed (only CK can match with this). this makes him an extremely powerful support / nuker - guaranteed slow, powerful and short cd lv1 nuke, instant silence. and ult that cause havoc in the middle of fights.
