Hey guys. Regarding the Xiaomi Piston 2.0 earphone.....Many people said it's very good. But I wonder how good it is. Let say if I use other brand earphone, in the range between RM 40-60 (such as edifier H210P), will it be poorer than Piston 2.0 in term of sound quality? I know I may not get the answer for this. Just hoping that someone who use other brand of earphone for Mi 3 could give some advices on this. Thanks.
Also, have anyone tried to go to lowyat plaza and asked for help to apply SP on their Mi3. Heard that recently got some shops over there started to sell Mi3 SP and casing.

QUOTE(steventan85 @ Jun 17 2014, 09:34 PM) pls only compare xiaomi piston 2.0 earphone with Klipsch S4 RM460 (harvey norman) . do not compare it with anything less than RM400 . some guys pm me and said they rather get philips RM40 earphone ..im like oh mai ,go ahead and buy those cheapo earphone .. http://www.klipsch.com/image-s4-black-in-ear-headphonesSo the Xiaomi Piston 2.0, which is below RM100, can compete with RM500 earphone? This is quite shocking fact. Thanks for the reply. Now i have to consider whether I should get one for myself soon....

Did anyone notice that the loudspeaker sound is not good? I played a few songs through the loudspeaker and honestly, it sound very poor. Even my old lenovo phone sounds better. Makes me wonder if the speaker has defect....

QUOTE(kennethkee93 @ Jun 17 2014, 11:56 PM) Mine works fine, I tried to play acoustic record, the guitar sounds great to me for a phone speaker. Btw, what is your meaning of poor? Please specify more on that. The sound is somehow distorted. Acoustic is still acceptable. But it became messed up when it comes to pop music.

QUOTE(mansooriqbal @ Jun 18 2014, 01:50 PM) I've seen you the most active around here. I had a question. I ordered mi 3 yesterday. And Ill be going over seas on coming monday. Do you think I will be able to get my item? I live in ampang? Can I pick it up myself? Any suggestions? I am living in Ampang too. 2nd batch user. Did you pay last night? If you already paid, and if your phone is delivered by fedex, and if the whole process is exactly the same with the 1st and 2nd batch delivery, then most likely the phone will reach your home on Saturday or Sunday. Mine one was paid on Wednesday, and I got it on Sunday morning. No kidding. That's how fast it was.

QUOTE(jvilous @ Jun 18 2014, 03:24 PM) This is why people like my mom still have a mentality that products from China is bad . Old generation people are like that one. I still remember last year when I bought Lenovo P770 (the very first budget P series from Lenovo). My father asked "What is this? China brand phone? I do not hear anyone using this brand woh. Quality can compared with the samsung/Iphones one meh? " I replied him "Soon this brand will spreaded all over the place in Malaysia. Mark my words. It will happen very soon." Now, after a year since I bought the Lenovo phone, I could see that a lot of people are using Lenovo. In the bus, LRT, on the street. The amount of Lenovo users is getting more and more everyday. Even the Pasar Malam started to sell Lenovo SP and casing. So give it some times. The china brand such as Xiaomi, OPPO, One plus one, etc, will proves its value. Soon or later your mother probably will switch to China brand phone without any hesitation. This post has been edited by Max2006: Jun 18 2014, 03:39 PM

QUOTE(briantwj @ Jun 19 2014, 01:39 PM) mine is still under Processing Items since yday. paid on the first day itself. when i click Track your order: Click to see status it says Delivery status (please visit fedex.com for details): So does that means it is definitely using fedex dy? if it is, I wanna call fedex and request them to hand it to me in person. Coz i wrote my uni's address. The pak guard sure ask the fedex to drop it in my uni's mail room 1st. Not neccesary. Last time I checked on my status, it said UPS. At the end, it turns out to be Fedex, after the tracking number shows up. Wait until your tracking number shows up first. If it's all numbers, it's fedex. If it got alphabets, then it's UPS.

QUOTE(bobds78 @ Jun 20 2014, 11:34 AM) I thought of buying through aliexpress but if i can get a +/- deal here i would go for it. Then its watchout time come tuesday noon. Hi regentcid, thanks be careful if you want to buy from aliexpress. You may end up buying a fake one. There's some videos explaining this on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzmIYrO5nfwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIQQRZihMeoThis post has been edited by Max2006: Jun 20 2014, 12:20 PM

QUOTE(jeisern @ Jun 20 2014, 01:20 PM) Aduh....learn thru experience, buy both fake and original Xiaomi Piston. Anyone found the best ms setting for the mikey to respond ? So you bought the original and the fake one? Then if you don't mind, can you tell us what's the difference between these 2 in term of sound quality? I want to know if the fake one is closed enough to the original one in term of sound quality. Thanks.

Since Xiaomi is becoming more and more famous in Malaysia now, plus the plans provided by local telcos, etc etc, I wonder if those phone stores in Lowyat plaza already followed the trend and started to sell the Xiaomi accesories such as SP, casing, earphone, mikey, etc.
I will go there this weekend. Will report here if I find any Xiaomi-related stuff.

QUOTE(miloy2k @ Jun 20 2014, 03:47 PM) Hope so price will not much different I hope so. But even if it's cheap, we also have to be careful because some of them might be fake. So I will keep my eyes open wide during the survey. QUOTE(jolokia @ Jun 20 2014, 03:49 PM) I already bought Casing & SP from lowyat plaza last month. If u want cheap one try those wholesalers at the 2nd floor, those front shop will slaughter u kao2..lol Thanks for the tips. But I heard that some wholesalers won't sell to normal customer unless you are a trader. Is it true? This post has been edited by Max2006: Jun 20 2014, 03:52 PM

QUOTE(jolokia @ Jun 20 2014, 04:13 PM) Just a few lcly type don't sell to customer, the rest sell slightly expensive to customer but still very much cheaper then those front kiosk & shop. I see one Mercury dairy case, Glass SP got Skool, normal SP quality not bad. 2nd Floor. LOL. lcly type ya. I know I know. Been encountered with those before when I only asked the price but didn't buy from them. Ok. 2nd floor. Hopefully they will help me to apply the SP as well since I have no confidence at all to apply myself. Thanks again for the tips.

I have a question for the stable rom and dev rom.
Dev rom get weekly update, while stable rom got monthly update.
For example, in month of June, dev rom get improvement week by week. And then at the end of month, the update of stable rom will cover all the updates of dev rom from those past weeks.
Is that right?

QUOTE(chlim @ Jun 20 2014, 08:22 PM) No. Dev ROM is based on android KitKat. While the stable is on Jelly bean. Both also need update to iron out any bugs. But Dev. ROM for sure will have more bugs . I see. Then if the stable rom get update to the kitkat version in the near future, can it be simply updated through OTA, or do we need to get that by flashing the rom?

QUOTE(chlim @ Jun 20 2014, 08:30 PM) Any official update will be OTA Ah nice. The reason I asked is because I would like to stick only to stable rom. Just afraid if stable rom goes to kitkat one day, I will need to flash the phone in order to get that. But now since I know it can be done through OTA as well, I feel relieve. Thanks for the info, bro!

QUOTE(nickchk89 @ Jun 20 2014, 10:02 PM) so many thing i dont notice from that pop out view really amazed me the wifi password sharing clear all except xxx apps really need lastly move multi apps across screen The pop up view is quite amazing. Been using it to jote down my note since last week. And the cleaner, actually we do not need to check it manually. Last night when i locked off my phone, suddenly a message poped up and told me there's about 100mb trash files in the system. And it asked me whether I want to clean it now. Honestly, I was shocked. Because usually I had to open the cleaner app to check how much of useless files. This was the first time a phone told me about the exact amount before I realized it, and it told me it's about time to do it. Amazing isn't it? QUOTE(NightFelix @ Jun 20 2014, 11:49 PM) My first time heard that the SP come with 1 practice and 1 for use and 1 for spare It's quite normal for China brand SP. The same thing happened to my old Lenovo P770. I bought 3 different types of SP from the internet, and end up having 9 pieces of SP.

QUOTE(FirstAidKit @ Jun 21 2014, 02:13 AM) My previous phone has been dead for 2 months and I couldn't wait for OnePlus One to be released in Malaysia ( long time to go ). And XiaoMi just announced RedMi Note to be released in Malaysia and the price is so attractive for the specs. Not to mention there's another batch of Mi3 selling at RM769. Which one to get guys in your opinion? I would like to have nice camera with smooth and fast processor. Thanks in advance ! I don't have RedMi note. So I can't compare it with Mi3. But based on the info from internet, Mi3 should be smoother than RedMi note. Mi3's camera should be better than redmi Note since it's Sony branded and it got dual-LED flashlight. Normally people choose redmi Note due to its bigger size, dual sims and slightly larger battery capacity. If you keen to that, you should go for it. Otherwise, go for Mi3 if you prefer latest and nicer specs. You can refer to this comparison before you decide. http://versus.com/en/xiaomi-mi3-vs-xiaomi-redmi-note-2gbOr...you can just grab both of them since they are cheap.
