The gap between rich n poor is damm big in india. In India if u want to rent a house u need to pay advance 1 year for expatriate. The slum is 100x poorer than our homeless and the rich actually is way much higher than us la.
We should consider ourself so so lucky compared with few country above..may be should watch slumdog millionaire

If price so high, what makes you think you can own the house? You're just borrowing money from bank to buy the house but the house belongs to the bank.

You're just renting it from the bank with high housing price. How can you own it if it's expensive? You think musical chair, pass it around?

All this happen bcos of social problem, when food price increase, petrol price increase, property price keep goreng n never drop so far, end up people get angry especially the poor group, finally crime rate increase, can't imagine if the rich n poor getting bigger gap!!

The worst place I have been so far is Mumbai about 10 years ago. During that time, the property price at Mumbai is already higher than Malaysia while their wages or salary is still way lower than Malaysia. The low income group is impossible to buy a house n if u consider malaysia, u r still afford to but u r more choosy only. Over there...almost no hope. Right now, I don't know if their property price has dropped or not but my guess is more higher n the gap is more wider.

Next, is Jakarta. The property price is also way higher for the average salary earners especially condos or service apartment at kuningan or mangga area. The rental is usd1500-2000 per month just for a 2 bed room service apartment but with daily maid to clean the house.

Next is Manila, the poor also almost impossible too to buy thevproperties. Ho chi minh city also same.

u can still see lots of poor people staying in the wooden huts in the heart of the city. I believe our country is still way better than them as our citizen is in much better condition just that we are more choosy. Of course there are also hard core poor people in malaysia too.

Tell her my ex-staff in jakarta, they everyday travel by public transport n jam like 2 cans of sardine put into 1 can for more than 1 hour to reach office to work. Worse if kena raining days.  Salary not more than rm1500 after conversion. She is very lucky lor compare to my ex-staffs.

Property price in Jakarta and Manila could be higher than kv but population and rich people in both cities are a lot more too.  Similarly,  many Malaysians couldn't afford current house price either.
According to gini coefficient,  gap between the rich and the poor in Malaysia is not much better either.
It is not unkown for people to take 1 to 2 hours to travel to work in kv.

U pay rent to owners, after 30 years of renting, that house is not yours. It belongs to the owners. If u want to buy from the owners, u got to buy at market price too.

houses, they come with different price tags...buy what u afford n comfortable. If income 2k, choose something cheap instead if follow others to buy luxury one...u r the one who is buying n u r the one who is choosing too. But it is not wrong either if u don't like to buy n own a house. But I not sure if u got buy any cars or not? I believe is no lor because why pay for a car? You borrow money from the bank n the car belongs to the bank n it is still renting from the bank...end of 7or 9 years, the car may be worth not much liao n may be need to scrap it if not good maintenance. During the loan period, finance company suck high interest from u too....helping the rich to make money too as got insurance, road tax, car service n maintenance, summons, parking fees, tayars, mechanics etc etc...

there comes a point in time when renting is a better option then buying. A good example is Penang.... a 5000sqf bungalow can rent for 1-1.5k, but to buy is 2mil. you can rent it for 30 years and u still only spent a tiny fraction of the amount compared to buying it yourself

i have 2 grandaunts living in Penang....both are 70+, each have a bungalow in a decent location in Georgetown....last year, they both sold thier houses for about 2.5mil each...then rented similar house in the same location for 1.5k per month. imagine that...they now have 2.5mil cash in thier bank accounts, to pass on to thier kids, while rent is only 1.5k per month.

its not always black/white.... buy is better then rent, always depends on circumstances.

Cool bro...I just sharing to u what I experience myself...1 to 2 hours go to work is not strange. What my whole jakarta office, every staffs 20+ staffs got to take 1-2 hours to come to work n sosometimes up to 3-4 hours on raining days. Imagine, whoke office no people when is bad raining days. I pity my ex-account manager, pregnant also got to squeeze bus n transjakarta n walk to office daily basis. Only 2 people escape this. Myself who stay in a service apartment which is few blocks away in kuningan n my jakarta director who got a driver to drive him.

If that is the case is true, wondering why penang people complain property price is high as they can rent a bungalor at 1.5k at george town some more. KV people sure envy like hell as 1.5k here may not enough for a condo in some selected place.

brother low cost cannot simply buy one... the fella buying is either very old, very low salary, or gov took their property and compensate 1 units for him/her..

its the same in KV, a terrace house in Damansara Kim would rent for less then 2k, but cost more then 1mil. I used to own a place in DK, sold 4 years ago, still have frens in the same area, rents havnt gone up much.
