i think the best is to install at the top if there's ready hole there ..

since the thermal take cooler already ocupy so much of space so installing a side fan ... can't pair it with air duct ....

To cut a blow hole u can use two tools:

1st. Dremer or rotary tool
2nd. electronic Hand Jigsaw

regardless which method is best to have a template apply for more precision cutting.

for first method u just need to slowly cut out the circle according to the template.

when using 2nd method it need to start off with a driller to make an opening for the jigsaw blade to goes through and start the cutting

if u want mesh grill actually u could buy from those speaker cover for the car from workshop .. . i dont know how much they just u but it comes with different size so can look for the closest to what u want ...

Okay i learnt in science that static build up happens when there is friction. I got 1 question, is acrylic on side panels dangerous? Since the acrylic would get friction from the wind produced by the intake fan and is acrylic like plastic which easily gets charged up? How to ground it? Or just letting the acrylic touch the side panel would do?

Thanks.

If the piece is just small, can use candle. Ensure it's not windy around. Bunsen burner is also highly recommended. I'd posted on this issue quite some time ago

I plan to change my PC casing soon. Is there any advice before I start changing?

What should I do first? Remove all IDE and SATA components, then remove PSU, what is next?

How do I remove the motherboard from the casing, and to reattach them on new casing, any advice on a proper way to do it?

What about front panel connectors, I have read the manual on the motherboard on where the wires should go, but then for LED wire, usually there are two, how do I know which is positive, which is negative, and which pin on the mobo is LED positive and negative.

Thanks
Idzm

do u have the new casing with u now? for me, i like to remove the PSU first becoz u can move along all the wire together. dismantle all cables - IDE, SATA, Firewire. As for front panel, detach all cable - usb, audio, mic hdd led, hdd switch, reset switch.
then when all clear, it is easier to unscrew all mobo screw.
IIINM, the led mobo can works either way. doesnt matter -ve or +ve. correct me if i am wrong.
anyway, what casing ure changing to? Li-an Li perhaps?

Just some cheabo casing, im currently using a cheap ATX casing from my P3. Now planning to get somethign more decent with front USB and audio, since I put it on the floor and the port at the back is extreme hard to access.

I think the hardest part for me is to fix the front panel connector, USB, Audio, mic, hdd status, power status, on switch, reset switch

For example, the front audio panel will have two pins, left and right, how do I know which is for which?

Certainly the manual did tell which pin is left channel, which pin is right channel, but how do I know which cable from the front panel is left and right channel?

Thanks
