I love it when some guy comes along with a few year old information and try to act smart after googling "Filco problems."

I can do the same with Leopold and cherry-pick (heh) my choice of answers and say Leopold is useless.

>google problems
>see date of posting

or

>google problems

but seriously though, I think we do a side by side comparison with leopold also okay whut.

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Jul 24 2014, 03:49 PM)
If you have a KMAC, you wouldn't give a bother about Filco's 'up' arrow misalignment.
The KMAC, though does not have misalignment, has weird tolerances that makes removing F-Row keycaps a pain in behind.

Can't tell the quality diff between Leopold and FILCO other than the ones pointed out.
I'd pick one and go with it. Both are good quality keyboards.
*
QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jul 24 2014, 04:40 PM)
I pay few thousands for custom keyboard, ended up alignment also got a bit off whistling.gif

Ping is not even an issues, it is up to you whether you like it.
Then can add a memory foam under pcb to eliminate the sound.

Since when Filco reputation is that bad ?
*
didn't know kmac got slight annoyances like you guys mentioned but it's not really big of a deal eh?

But you see this dupe is busybody about Filco vs Leopold. Question asked in the first place is Filco vs Ducky.

Such display of attempted cleverness...

Try asking Ng Kah Weng 0193318728, no idea on final product quality though as I did not do mine with him. But what he can offer is advice and guidance. I think he did told me its not possible to do CNC for plate due to 1.5mm thickness.
*
alright i'll consult him then biggrin.gif 1.5mm can't cnc? too thick is it? hmm have to go with 1.3 1.2?

Eh my bad I think it was for acrylic  hmm.gif  because too thin, and with that many holes, quite fragile during CNC process.
*
if 1.5mm stainless steel or alu price okay then i'll go ahead with it. if not then 2mm acrylic? hmmm

If acrylic please use laser cutter. CNC only worth if you're going high end alu. I have no CNC contacts yet, but I think my laser guy can do cnc. I can try asking.
*
I'll go with either stainless steel or alu. If price is expensive for a plate then I'll just make acrylic

If standard 60% or tkl acrylic plate, better just get it from taobao seller
Like dadudeneverabides said, its not worth it. Even lasercut acrylic plate is not worth it unless you need specific size and dimension. Go aluminium  tongue.gif  might be pricier, but if you're going for custom, better make it worthwhile. Oh and there's specific aluminium type you should request, and that one you have to refer to ainuddin
*
planning to go alu or steel straight actually since this is (planning to be) my TKL endgame huehue

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Jul 25 2014, 10:18 AM)
Will cost you less than RM80 for the Phantom TKL plate using alu. I just asked the guy what alu he's gonna use, so stay tuned for that.

Acrylic is RM52 for the same plate.
Work la.
KBT Race, bordering on Lightsaver already. You might wanna rearrange your nav cluster and put the printsreen-pausebreak in a row since you have the space anyway, although I don't see the need for these keys in the 21st century.
*
nice less than 80! better than geekwhack groupbuy. 35usd but stainless steel though. shipping lagi hmmm

TEX 80% alu case, this one seems to be able to accommodate quite a number of commonly available mechs (filco, ducky, Y.J.S's legendary QFR)

I've discussed with 016 about this to get this together but then it wouldn't fit wasd cause of dip switches and not sure will it fit phantom or not sad.gif

Hey there.

I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard without all the bells and whistles. I'm not into gaming, so I don't need backlighting, macro keys and all that jazz. I want something simple, cheap and has a keypad.

Any recommendations? =)

If budget allows you then get filco

Basically, x suka MKB keluar. We suggest filco for first timer because we want to help you guys make a better decision. If you guys wanna get others go ahead but don't cringe when it's bad. I know budget is an issue but if you want better stuff then save up for it and get something that will make you feel worthy for buying it.

Confession: I'm still cringing over WASD Keyboards because they got dip switches. sad.gif

the dumbest way is using notepad.
using hex requires flashing and a lot hassles.
not recommended if unfamiliar.
flash wrong anytime = gg

the dumbest? i think it's the way with the most hassle. hmm, how can I enter the bootloader mode then? press q while plugging in doesn't work. still don't know how to deal with the notepad method. very wtf.
