Sigh speaking of stabs. Assembled faceu and soldered already only realize that the space bar stabs not smooth cause of one sides wire too deep in, rubbing against the stabs. Sigh malas desolder. Wait for key caps to come only desolder

This is how you gain experience.
Always test stab first next time before mounting all the switches  laugh.gif
*
Wa Sudah salah. I will repent huhu. I plan to desolder all and resolder to tsangan layout straight la. Then that time really need to check properly dy haha. Also, to lube clears but I want tactility then can just use thin kryton right? Need to source lube some more :'(

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Jul 29 2014, 12:49 PM)
haha yea, thats the downside of pcb mount stabs coz need to desolder all switches to access the stabs if u use a plate.
some new plate have cut out to allow stabs to be removed by just desolder one switch, that would be easier.
*
Yeah that's the pain in the ass part sad.gif but I don't think the hammer plate that I'm using got cutout for space stabs.

Also, I finally know why got some people can be so freaking legendary hahahahaha!

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jul 29 2014, 01:02 PM)
lube to decrease the friction noise only
not lube the tactile part but the side slider.
this way you wont lose tactility.
*
Thanks bro nod.gif some keys machiam a bit hard wanna come up like that. Machiam got friction wanna go down. Lubing will solve this I assume.

Then I'll wait for the springs to come then kasi all tune terus haha

60 is okay but 40% layout is impractical IMO. Unless you use only alphas then there should be no problem. And kaiser what do you mean by teensy bga?

The price.. and imho, its cheaper to make one yourself, and replace teensy with pro micro controller (1/4 of teensy price, less pin)
I think its ball grid array soldering

GHers still want the metal stick and solder method used on Phantom.

Here is a proper way to turn that teensy into Surface mount. This module goes onto a PCB.

Yeah I came across the metal stick method which they use. Isn't it okay? Considering that there is nothing at the bottom of the PCB? Like get a teensy without headers and solder the headers on your own with cut leads from diode or etc?

What could possibly go wrong with the metal stick soldering? Going to start to solder mine soon :l and was thinking of doing the metal stick way

You programmed to exact keymap layout as HHKB Pro 2?
*
not exactly like that layout. the bottom row yes, the control yes, short shift and fn with the exeption of the 1x backspace and tilda. i used long backspace instead. So the only thing changed is control and 5 key btm. Not fair to call it full hhkb layout since it's only a fraction of it

and the fn layer didn't follow also. still thinking of how to map fn and fn2 layer

the way they make mx black back then and the mx black right now is different.
those "vintage" found on old keyboards (manufactured before around 1995) has smooth surface whereas compared to the newer mx blacks (mostly that is manufactured after 1995) that we find on it has a rougher surface on the sliders.

entah how much we have to use before it turns smooth. but theoretically if we can find a way to smoothen the texture surface on the newer mx blacks, probably we could achieve the vintage smoothness.
not sure if blowing hot air would work, need some kind of heat insulation on the other part of the switch stem besides the slider and the back part of the stem.
and yes, the sad life of most mkb enthusiasts sweat.gif
we are not ready to receive the kind of reaction other people would give when we reveal to them the amount of money we spend on a keyboard.  sweat.gif

Wait until you tell them keycap price.

Can anyone help me with this since I cant read chinese and google translate sucks.
M87 PCB  -  does this have controller and anything related soldered? Just need to solder diode, resistor and switch?
And for casing, should fit any custom made case for A.87 pcb?

And what is the different between this faceu (RMB 130-160) and this faceu (RMB 80)

-there goes my 'no more mkb'  sad.gif -
*
The 80 rmb got 5 led not working while the 160rmb is perfect punya. And yeah the m87 just solder the switch, resistor and diode on our own. Any a87 case should work well since the seller made this board based on a87

the details from EC? the taobao page didnt state any details leh rclxub.gif
*
yeah the details is in EC whereby the controller is soldered but not the resistor and diodes for the switches. the great thing about this PCB is buy 5 free 1 and buy 10 free 3. 016 might organize groupbuy soon. (i hope :3)

I think this is a pretty good buy provided that it's 175rmb for 1 and the faceu replica that he made, the quality is pretty good as well.

hi sifus, a few of my keys are malfunctioning
user posted image
grey colored are those that didnt give outputs.
since i cant find the resit/warranty,i opened the case out of curiosity and took a look at the pcb board but theres nothing unusual at all. all LED are OK.
the mkb model is Ducky Shine Zero DK2108S. plz help meh.  cry.gif
*
if you're able to desolder then desolder the switches that are affected, then test whether the switch is working or not. If it's working, and if and only if you've a multimeter, check the diodes corresponding to the key that's affected whether okay or not. if both are okay then the problem might lie on the board?

if there's anything that i left out or any wrong information that I gave, feel free to let me know.
