Me, zennasyndroxx and ntw getting a cheap tkl board. If you order with case I think around Rm230+-, With switches, led, diode, resistor and so on, everything should be less than RM400 I think  sweat.gif  But you can get part slowly, go for pcb and case first, and buy other stuff slowly. If can get 6 people, lagi cheaper

Any group-buy for this? hmm.gif
Can't see to follow the post now, too many discussion in one thread... rclxub.gif

doh.gif Need to buy at least 2 to stack up in my case, I have my keyboard on top of my laptop with cooler, the height is way too high; 45mm.
I have to custom made myself, which is very louzy 2-piece nylon bag with polystyrene inside. sweat.gif
Can't find one that has 45mm height.. cry.gif

maybe put a small book or two under the wrist rest?
*
Erm, I would prefer to have 1 piece of the wrist rest instead cause I'll be moving it in and out every morning and evening.
I use it at office, so I bring my laptop in and out everyday, I store my keyboard in the cupboard, it's an expensive piece of keyboard after all.
Right now I'm using 2 pieces of bag (due to length) and some polystyrene to custom my height, not a very fancy one but it does its job, even the height has differences between these 2.. sweat.gif
My home's however has little bump from the keyboard slider, so I just put piece of clothe and it's comfort enough for long hour of gaming. wink.gif

p/s: I think I've posted my bag before when I purchased my Poker2, hmm.gif

QUOTE(nikaizad @ Aug 13 2014, 01:14 PM)
maybe you can take a look at the grifiti wristpads for macbooks.

theyre basicly the same i think...
*
They are... about the same, need to import, kinda... expensive don't you think? (sorry, cheapskate talking here.. tongue.gif )

What do people use to cover their keyboard when not using to avoid dusts? I was planning to buy the keyboard roof like https://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,roofs but figured that it's too expensive. Or do people just use cloth to cover it?
*
I use my clothe at home for the wrist rest cover, when not in use, just flip the clothe over the keyboard, done. wink.gif

i heard the camo version had some cable problem though..
*
SOS? hmm.gif I never have any problem with mine, perhaps I don't really move it around much, only use it at my home, lazy to unplug from the KVM.. too hassle to connect it back later sweat.gif

where do you guys usually buy mechanical keyboards? only on eBay?
*
eBay? That's very pricey and higher risk.
The usual brand like Filco, Ducky, some Vortex and maybe iKBC can be found locally. Gaming MKB is much common, can be found any where.
Now the Kastam brand is a bit hard to get by, usually GB (Group Buy) and possibly only limited item, or Import from China, Korea, etc. Oh did I say it's Kastom DIY? So you get to soldering, installing, and probably program it yourself... sweat.gif

Me? Nah, Filco, and another Poker 2 is enough for my life, excuses for not enough dough to play Kastam. cry.gif

currently in market, is there any mechanical keyboard layout like steelseries mechanical keyboard? as in the backspace is long type and the enter button is huge. i am using the steelseries currently but thinking of changing but i also used to this kind of layout and wanted to try other brand but mostly i saw is small backspace or small enter button
*
Erm, ISO layout I assume, less likely unless you specifically order for it, since this is a UK ISO layout and we here mostly use the standard US layout.
I believe Filco has such layout but of course need to back-to-back order. sweat.gif

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Aug 21 2014, 12:10 PM)
I'm a blue user myself. I couldn't say much and I may be wrong (so many experts here  notworthy.gif ) because i just have my ducky shine 3 for only 3 days.
Blue is good for typing no doubt. As for gaming, I play more FPS than the rest of the genres. I do think the double click issue for blue switches is less of an issue.
Well, it does affect you sometimes, as you need to release the key to reset the switch for the next press (but at least for me, I tend to do that.)
But the CLICKINESS is OH-SO-ADDICTIVE. I keep looking for opportunity to type on it.

I tried Brown for 2 days ( i pinjam friend's Filco) and it's awesome but lack of clickiness.
It depends on personal preference after all. You just need to try it yourself.
*
Brown is tactile only so no clicky, is more of a general purpose rather than specific, I'm a Brown love, the tactile feel of Brown on Filco is definitely not so obvious compare to other brand. sweat.gif
My Poker2 also Brown but has very obvious tactile feel on it, even with thick O-ring in place, I can still feel the tactile but they're less obvious due to low actuation distance.

QUOTE(moron88 @ Aug 21 2014, 12:29 PM)
What is the cheapest mechanical keyboard with tactile feel? value for money less than rm 300
*
Rosewill RK-9000, recommended topup for much more quality assurance, such as Ducky or Filco. wink.gif

Add: hmm.gif Ducky Zero Full size can be had for RM299, just ngam your bajet, so go for it. Just note, NO LED, just plain KB.

Man im tore between blue and brown. Brown is good for overall, but blue  clicky is tempting but Im afraid it is too loud and the issue you mentioned.
*
Why not both? Buy 1 for typing, 1 for gaming... brows.gif

Dilemma. HAHA! I was in your situation 2 weeks ago. I decided to go Blue because of the clicks.
But brown is really awesome as well. DILEMMA!
*
Wow, my Brown (Poker 2) is already quite loud (some do complains a bit) in the office, now it's slightly better than thick O-rings.
Blue, doh.gif I don't even dare think about what others would response to it... best keep it in your own room. sweat.gif

ahh, because there's one order on mine who's from sabah.
i've sent an email to massdrop regarding the shipping charges if i were to order in bulk.
when i've gotten a reply, i'll update it up.

i'm not sure, maybe is it more cheaper if you, wildwestgoh and another person join your order together?
*
Yes, please do update us the numbers on Thursday so me and captvizcenzo can decide and press order on Friday if it's cheaper to join your GB or proceed with ourselves a GB.
Another postage to East Malaysia is by means not cheap if the GB numbers is low. sweat.gif
Well, we still have 2 days to go, the Massdrop already reaches 2K pre-order, darn scary numbers, even though it's combination of all kits. shakehead.gif
